Aquarium Silicon Mat

Hi All,

Sorry, New here and already looking for a bit of advice 🙁

I’m setting up a WIO 75 Shallow with several large 10kg rocks. I was originally going to use styrofoam for them to sit on, but created several silicon mats out of a spare tube of the aquarium glue I had - see photo.

Can anyone foresee if this would cause a problem sitting the rocks on them, with the base being only 6mm?

Thank you in advance
Mark

I use that plastic egg crate diffuser, I am not sure that this would spread the load very much at all so I would be worried about point loading 6mm glass like that.

Thanks for the response, in the end I came to the same conclusion and purchase the egg crate which arrived this morning :)

Thank you though :)
