Hi all,
For some reason, it has proven quite difficult to buy an aqua lifter pump in hong kong.
Can anyone suggest a good alternative for my overflow?
I'm intrigued by the possibility of a venturi connected to something in my sump such as this - (http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f60/alternative-to-aqualifter-pump-92629.html) but I don't really want to get another pump just for that.
So I was wondering whether I could just create a venturi by connecting the overflow filter siphon tube to the outflow of my pump. That would be ideal because then it would only work when the sump is on.
I did try to connect it to my outflow pipe (which uses 20mm PVC pipes) but it didn't work so I think I'm not understanding the conditions required such as how much flow I would need to be able to create the vacuum.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
