Hi guys,

Need some advice on lighting.
I'm currently in the process of setting up the aquael 30litre shrimp tank.

Now my question is, the lighting that comes with the rank is one of those florescent tubes fitting (which was the old setup before the started to use the leddy light) will this be enough as I will be injecting Co2 and the 2 plants are crypt wendttii and dwarf hairgrass.. I want the hairgrass to carpet not to grow high and I'm just worried that the light won't be powerful enough to do that?

Any ideas guys

Many thanks

Thank you for your reply David. That thread helps me loads to be honest.

I'll be planting it all tonight so will trim it right down and keep an eye on it.

I would swap it for the leddy light personally. Or go low tech and leave out the co2.

I've used the old style lights on a number of aquascape. It really didn't make a difference, imo, using co2 as it just wasn't bright enough

Its an ok light but it's borderline. What are you looking to grow

I want the dwarf hairgrass to carpet and never had any joy without Co2 and high light.. I own crypts are ok without it. Is there any other light you'd rec?

I would personally stick one of the Eheim leds over it. Not cheap but a really nice light. Or one of the dennerle nano lights

Those dennerle lights are florescent tubes right? Isn't that the same as the one I have now?
