I originally bought them for my main tank, but after familiarising myself with them (there is hardly any info on them out there) in the quarantine tank (low tech), decided to dedicate this tank to them. Kept in 3 dGH, 0.3 dKH and 70 TDS they are doing fine and I have had them for well over a year now, the substrate is at least 4 years old.If you keep sensitive fish then a truly inert substrate and careful water parameters are important. I would not thought such fish would be suitable for a tank devoted to plant growth.
Yeah, it's a bit weird, mines not too bad, but those titration colour charts put it to the test.I used to work with a guy that was slightly colour blind, he was a genius at getting the right shade of grey at the end point.
Active substrates last much longer in soft water, 4 years is impressivethe substrate is at least 4 years old.
Always fought shy of Active Substrates, probably lazy, could not face a strip down.Active substrates
Very nice tank and happy healthy fish. I had to look them up on the internet.decided to dedicate this tank to them.
