Hi
I have a small nano tank setup (50ltrs) with wood and one quite Large anubius nana that I have taken out of my main tank.. I Ei dose and inject co2 into my other tanks, I'm not planning on using co2 in this tank as its for anubius only..

What is the best way to fertilise if at all please?

Thanks

If its a non-Co2 dose 25% to 50% LESS of EI.
Or make up a weekly All in one solution below!

DIY Tropica Plant Nutrition Plus + (3)
Tropica recommend to dose 5ml per 50 litres of tank water per week.
48g Potassium Nitrate
2.2g Potassium Phosphate (monobasic)
17g Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate (Epsom Salts)
0.5g E300 Ascorbic Acid
0.2g E202 Potassium Sorbate
5g EDTA Chelated Trace Elements Mix (TNC Trace, CSM+B)
500ml distilled water

To be cheeky have you got this same table for co2 injection?

Again thanks

Hi Mick
The above is a All in One solution for weekly dosing as stated.
http://www.theplantedtank.co.uk/EI.htm
Have a look at the link above for your specific needs on using different dosing regimes/methods.
Plants are more liable to get sick and fail if you don't have enough Co2!
Estimative Index is highly dependant on a good level of CO2 which must be maintained at a stable 30ppm through the whole of the photo period. More than 90% of all algae problems on planted tank forums are because of poor or fluctuating CO2 levels.
What dosing method are you using now?

I use the standard Ei mix from APF in my co2 tanks .. I do the all in one solution but add half the dose daily for 6 days a week

Hi Mick
You could just dose the all in one on a Sunday to Sunday or what ever suits your routine!
Would save you dosing 6 days a week and save on solution.....you could keep an eye on your plants watching for any changes in health!
What substrate have you got in the non Co2 tank?

Just add the Ei I have mixed but add like 25ml for the week instead of 50ml ?
The substrate is just black and white gravel I'll add a pic.
The tank has been running for 2 year but just plain with gravel only d083ad665826277608402f0970b6e19e.jpg

Looks good...Anubias seems pretty healthy!
I was going to suggest putting the trailing roots.......(not the rhizome) of the anubias in the substrate if you had a planted substrate!
Its quite large so its better where it is!

I was just trying to make the tank a little less boring.. The anubius had out grown it's space in my other tank and it was a shame to waste it ..
Being the only plant in the tank and growth rate being slow I was unsure of what to dose.. I know they don't really benefit from co2 or so I was lead to believe anyway..
Thanks for your advice by the way I really appreciate it

Should be okay for the plant!
Fish look healthy too.

That's good then
So do you think 5ml of the Ei I have mixed already for the whole week ?
I've always kept gold fish with heaters for many years and they alway end up in my pond due to out growing my tanks 🙂

I only have the light on for roughly 4hrs daily as where the tank is situated it gets some daylight in

You might be able to get away with no macro addition(just goldfish poo) but anubias really need micros specially magnessium and such. I would advise if the tank is new to give a good first dose to build up the concentrations of all nutrients. After that its quite an easy tank.
