Anubias

Ok so all is well in my tank, however one of my anubias has sprouted a stem that resembles what I can describe as a flower, but isnt, no petals or colour etc

Just wondering what exactly it is or its purpose? Thanks

It's a spathe (inflorescence, basically a flower).

I have 4 of these on one of my plants. Only one has ever opened, the others remaining closed. Any idea why that is?

the flowers hang around for ages, nice when they open but IME have always picked up algae quickly so end up snipping them off pretty soon after opening.

think the flowers are pretty common but as a newb i was still chuffed to get a couple 🙂
