For many weeks, my Anubias v nana has been throwing out 2-3 stems? per week which all open then produce a very nice leaf.

About a week ago, maybe longer, I noticed two stems were thrown out but stopped and the leaves didnt open up. I'm currently looking at two stems where the leaves seem to be about to open but simply havnt.

As far as I know, I havnt changed anything in the tank, PH circa 7.2, KH 5, O2 8.2-8.3, CO2 injection, lighting all the same - 60 ltr tank.

Any idea why the Anubias has simply stopped ?

Just a thought, but are you sure it isn't about to flower ? The new "leaves" may slowly unfurl to produce a white flower like the Spathyfillum house plant or Cuckoo Pint hedgerow flower.

Hi there - check if the "stems"of te newest growt is a bit longer, then the establised leaves, and comes from th basis of an existing leaf. If so they're most likely gonna develop into the flowers allready descriped. Flowers are allways dorment (developed, but "sleeping"🙂) in the plants you buy, since those are produced above water.

Hi mate:wave:
Does it look anything like the stem coming out of the side of the rhizome in this pic? The one right in the middle, I know for a fact that it will be a flower. They grow really slowly and then once they open they will look good for roughly a week and then they will close up again.🙂

P.S. Sorry for the reflections!

By the way, don't be worried if it completely stops growing for a while as my one flowered once before and it did just that. I thought I had done something wrong and that was it dying but it came back to life after about a week and a half of doing nothing!
I'm sure you will get it to flower, but when it does make sure to get up some photos!😉 I've just found a photo of when the last flower was open so I might as well show you!🙂 You can see it pearling too...😀
