An old newbie

Hi everyone - once I was a very experienced Aquarist, then due to work and time commitments took a break for a decade or so - kept my feet wet with my koi pond.

So this year for my birthday in august I was bought a 230l tank - didn’t want to go down the reef route just yet, so settled on a planted aquaria venture

So with some trepidation and lots of research to get my knowledge base back up to date, I am now back into the fold.

I have many questions that I hope members can assist with - but here’s a pic of the tank started on 20th sept and latest pic on 30th Oct

Yeah - the pruning Scissors will be out this weekend when I do my water change

I like the depth of the tank, there seems to be a trend towards a more shallow tank, but that looks great with the beautiful piece of wood. Welcome.

Yeah - I was -planning on a fish only set up originally, but not much challenge there, the deeper tank does it seems gives an Interesting dimension but my concern was the light levels reaching the bottom.

Blade, sounds like we have a few things in common. I am also just getting back into planted tanks after a decade break. Lots to catch up on. Plants look like they are off to a great start.
