I'd like to know how to propagate Amazon Swords. I have 4 or 5 Echinodorus bleheri, which are doing just fine at the back, but also a nice Echinodorus Altlandsberg in the right foreground. Can I split the Altlandsberg at the base to form two plants? It has a good thick root on it.

I'm soon to move all of the above plants into a larger new set up, hence wanting to maximise the individual plant numbers - new plants will be ordered for this tank and then grown to supply more for the larger tank...

Amazon swords tend to have ‘baby‘ plants attached to a twiggy long stem that grows from the base of the plant. Leave them to develop until the babies develop roots and then you can cut them off and plant them.
