Amazon Frogbit roots dropping

I have a tank I am setting up but at the moment no livestock. Started a week ago. The Frogbit looks healthy and growing well. The problem is it is dropping roots. Is this normal it is not what I expected. It started in the last 2 days when it had mature roots with all that fuzzy root. Sorry botany is not my forte.

like falling of? or growing in the substrate?
How long is the tank setup: ferts? lights? CO2? timings?

You wouldn't expect from a floater, but it still can be transplant shock from putting it suddenly into a completely different invironment regarding water quality and light source. That would be my 50 cents on the matter with the little information you give..
