Hi all,

I've been looking for a substrate for a tank im setting up low tech, and came across this from APS (pics below).

I assumed it would be a complete aquarium substrate, similar to say fluorite or Fluval shrimp types; but it says ceramic.

I've never had a purely ceramic substrate, but wondered if anyone had experience with this? I'm assuming it would be intended as a base layer, perhaps with root tabs; or if it would be fine as is with something like EI dosing.

Thought I'd get some opinions before ordering, as it isn't cheap; (but is still cheaper than seachem equivalents etc, I really like the red/brown volcanic colour)
