Hi there,

I'm hoping to make some all in one fert for my tank as I'm planning on getting a single peristaltic pump to dose when I'm away.

I currently have the following chemicals:
Potassium Nitrate (KNO3)
Monopotassium Phosphate (KH2PO4)
Magnesium Sulphate (MgSO4)
TNC Trace

I had been following the calculator on fluid sensors website for dosing.

I know I need ascorbic(?) acid, but is there anything else I need, and where is the best place to find these things?

Also, is there a recipe to follow to make up the solution?

Thanks.

Bleh. So many names...
On James' it gives a "recipe" that includes the powders I already have plus ascorbic acid and potassium sorbate, but also plus potassium sulphate. Is there a way I can fiddle the recipe to not need to buy that or am I just as well getting some?
His formula was (in 500ml)
10g Potassium Nitrate
2.3g Monopotassium Phosphate
4g Potassium Sulphate
8g Magnesium Sulphate
6g trace
0.5g Ascorbic acid
0.2g Potassium Sorbate

As far as I can see, you are getting Potassium from the KNO3 and sulphate from the MgSO4, so surely you could just increase those slightly and lose the Potassium Sulphate? Or does it not work like that...? 😛
