I have a 35 gal aquarium with one large cichlid in it. It grows hairy green algae very quickly. I am changing water weekly but it always grows back. I was told to use Easycarbo, but now read that it kills fish. Can Easycarbo be used to kill green algae without harming my cichlid?

Easycarbo will have little to no effect on green algae, it's mainly used to combat Red Algae (Black Beard/Brush Algae).
Without a couple of photographs and a list of your equipment it's difficult for anyone to give you any advice.
