Had an algae problem for some while now resulting in algae on a certyain place on the front glass, rear glass and particular section of the tank.
Happy that my lighting was spot on, substrate ok, plenty of CO2 and good distribution as well as a good feeding regime - just couldnt get to the bottom of the problem.
Turned out it was sunlight entering the tank very late afternoon. To confirm this, I covered the front of the tank every day until around teatime then took the covers off. Started to do this a few weeks ago and hey presto no algae on front, back or in my tank.
I though the tank was far enough away from direct sunlight but clearly not !
Hope this helps someone else who may have a similar issue.
