Hi Dave, In the second photo it looks like Staghorn algae. If it is you can treat it with Carbo or Excel use a syringe to spot treat it for a couple of days then it will die back.
Turn off your filter so the Dose stays around the algae for a minute or so then turn back on the filter.
Cheers Andy. I trimmed most of the algae of the Monte Carlo, and will try Roy's method for the Anubis.
I think I need to get the tank balanced before I get the shrimps. I cut back on the ferts because the nitrate was getting high, but then I starting using ro water. I didn't up the ferts and things started to get low. So it's probably my own fault that I have the algae.
