Right I have major algae issues and im not sure what type of algae it is, would any of you be able to help.

Its all stringy and horrible, also makes my tank smell !.

Well I have had a look, and think its Rhizoclonium. But looking at the BGA it may be that.
From the photo it looks more like Rhizoclonium but in the description it doesn't say anything about the smell which BGA does.
BGA discripsion is more like it, but the photo doesn't look like my algae as much as Rhizoclonium does
Im going to up my co2 and lower my light, or shall I keep the light the same. Have also started to does dry ferts given to me by the kind Themuleous.
 
It's probably rhizo. Manually remove as much as possible with an old toothbrush first. Amano/Yamato shrimps are known to eat them too.

BGA has a very obviously smell. You'll never forget it!
 
Hmmmm picked out a tray full today !. ahh man what boring work.
Has anyone got any amano shrimps for sale?
