Hi guys,

Anyone running one of these on an aquascaper 900 or similar size tank ? Really liking the look of them but just wondering if it's too much on that size tank... I like the idea it's app controlled and you can run it on a lower power but it's hard finding the info in regards to them with planted tanks.

I can't see the min flow anywhere for this pump, but max is 7500lph and I would assume you can reduce it quite a lot.

The nice thing about these pumps is they create a nice wide flow, so even at higher flow rates, they don't batter plants etc. There is also the Ecotech range which are very good pumps.

Check my journal, I use Nero 3 at about 30% on my 100 litre 600mm tank, and its awesome:

Awesome. Just what I'm looking for. I think I will order one. Thanks a lot for pointing me towards the thread mate!

I think it would be perfect on a 900 tank. At minimum flow, its barely noticeable, at maximum it'll turn most tanks into a washing machine, and as @Nick potts says, it has a really nice wide open flow cone so it can reach the top and bottom of a tank in a relatively short distance. If you plan to keep shrimp, or small fish, I thoroughly recommend the 3D printed guard I link in my thread.

Yeah I like the fact it has a wide open flow and it looks the part too with it being so small. The app seems to be decent also which is a big bonus for me. I have seen some 3D printed guards which I might get if I end up keeping shrimp. I have just ordered one so excited to see what it's like when the tanks up and running..I think I'll take your method of having it at 30% and go from there lol

I'm guessing at a higher output % I could use this on my 350L? Or do you reckon that's pushing it?

Edit: I've seen a reef keeper review saying he added it to his 90 US gallon (which is about the same size as 350L) and it's churning things up nicely.

Yeah, I’d say so Courtney, I think it’ll give a significant increase in flow, even on a tank that size, but if you are in any doubt, just step up to the Nero 5.
