I seem to be getting co2 into the filter. It seems to burp out gas more than it used to.
All the same i havant moved anything.
Ive got a shrimp filter sponge over the intake, could this cause any problems.

Does anyone else have problems, what do you do?

Could be, as you are restricting the inlet, with the sponge, the impellor is cavitating (bad bad bad as will cause damage) and pulling dissolved gas (air & CO2) out of solution.

If you ever need to restrict the flow of a pump (any pump, shower pump, water pump etc) you must always restrict the outflow and never the inflow.
