Hi, members,

Which one is more effective for just started aquascape? I am planted Hemianthus callitrichoides.
  • Dennerle V30 complete
  • JBL Flora Ferropol
  • Tropica Premium Nutrition
  • Tropica Specialised Nutrition

Thanks in advance!

While I never use commercial blends, I can tell you that all the mentioned above are not bad, neither they present a guaranteed success. It depends, among other things, on the mineral contents of your water.

Tropica Specialised is the one l go to , Some of the Dennerle are part of a system were you add other nutrients seperatly but it mentions complete, the one mentionedThis is expensive though compared to say Solufeed ,which l will be trying sooner or later

Out of the 4 mentioned; Tropica Specialised, simply because its the only "Complete" fertilizer in the list, the others are basically blends of potassium and micro nutrients. Aka ~ expensive water.

Jbl Ferropol.
K fertilizer 1 liquid, nutrient content: 1.00 % K2O. With micro-nutrients: 0.0003 % B; 0.25 % MgO; 0.0002 % Co; 0.0002 % Mo. As complex of EDTA: 0.0009 % Cu; 0.001 % Zn; 0.1 % Fe; 0.0024 % Mn;

Dennerle V30 Complete.
K-fertilizer solution 3 with trace nutrients, with complexing agents DTPA, EDTA, HEDTA
3 % K2O water-soluble potassium oxide
0.024 % B total boron = water-soluble boron
0.003 %* Co total cobalt = water-soluble cobalt
0.006 %* Cu total copper = water-soluble copper
0.35 %* Fe total iron = water-soluble iron
0.15 %* Mn total manganese = water-soluble manganese
0.012 % Mo total molybdenum = water-soluble molybdenum
0.008 %* Zn total zinc = water-soluble zinc

Secondary constituents: 0.27 % N total nitrogen, 1.8 % S water-soluble sulphur, 0.75 % MgO water-soluble magnesium oxide, 0.32 % Na watersoluble sodium, 4 % organic matter.

Tropica specialized nutrition use NH4NO3 which make the plants to get incredibly green, like there is some gloss on the leaves, SD to 4K. never seen that using KNO3 & Urea, urea is better than KNO3 for me though

Especially for soft to very soft water, slightly acidic tanks I can highly recommend Tropica Specialized. I've been using it exclusively in one of my tanks (2.5 GH, 0.5 KH, 6.2 pH) densely planted 150L low tech for over a year now. In my case I only dose every 10-14 days targeting 1.25 ppm N, 0.1 ppm P, 1 ppm K, 0.06 ppm Fe - very lean - for me a 750 ml bottle cost $30 usd and will last about 18 months - not bad at all. For larger high-tech tanks following a more aggressive dosing regime it might be a bit expensive in the long run.

Cheers,
Michael

Yes, for small tank it don't worth bothering with powder, i also use ro water (0 °dKH - 6 °dGH) which is way better than tap water, plant definetly like soft way more
