A Stump Has Me Stumped

I'm in the planning stages of my first tank and I've hit a roadblock. My wife and I went to our local fish store to get some ideas of what hardscape was available. She fell in love with a piece of stump wood, but I am having difficulties figuring out a way to use it effectively. My issue is the tank location will be between our desks. This means it will have 2-3 different viewing angles, with one short side facing the wall. It's a UNS 60 so slightly odd dimensions. Additionally she'd like it at the front so the hole running through it is visible.

I located software to map it out visually but I'm still struggling. See attached, but apologies for the blown out lighting. I use an HDR monitor and Window has a hard time with accurate screen-shotting.

A few things to keep in mind:
-The scale is all wacky because I don't have the ability to adjust that.
-All the plants and rocks are just to get a general feel for the layout/theme and not any intentional choice that I'll be sticking to.
-The only two locked in aspects is the stump will be present at the front and the tank will have amazon frogbit.

Does anyone have any suggestions to improve the mockup below in regards to composition? I wanted to go for a river bank style but I feel I'm fighting a losing battle.

I would trust your instincts that a river scape is not the way to go with the hardscape you have.
Google tree stump aquascapes. If you get some spider wood and some glue (cyanoacrylate is fish safe) to make roots… you could make a nice island style that would be perfect for multi viewing angles.
