So I'm just after which filter or filters people would suggest using on this tank? It's 350L in volume so I'm not sure if I should buy an FX6 (problems with inline heater or CO2 injection due to pipe size) or go for two smaller ones?

Thanks in advance

I think I'd go with x2 2217

or some other pair equal size to the 2217. Do you guys have sicce whale 500 filters? They're good value.

Not even thought about that range. What media would you suggest putting in it? I did consider the G6 due to its easy cleaning but don't think it would be powerful enough for my tank?

2x JBL Cristalprofi 1501 filters would give adequate flow in a tank that size.
They're good quality filters and reliable.

Happy Christmas

They're available on eBay for a little over £100

A lot of filter for the money

If your budget is bigger the Eheim pro 3 range are good, reliable and very quiet.
I run a 2071 and a 2075 on my 55 gallon tank in the living room and you can hardly hear the filters when the TV is off.

They're easier to maintain than the classic 2217 classic canister filters.
If your budget is even bigger they do a thermo model, which is also available on the classic 2217, but to be honest an inline Hydor heater would work out a lot cheaper.

Both of my filters are loaded with Seachem Matrix and EheIm Ehfhsubstrat , and I don't have any problems.
I don't run activated carbon or any water clarifiers , and my water is nice and clear.

Just the pre filter sponges in the first stage.
no additional coarse , medium or fine sponges.
I rinse the biological media while still in the media trays in tank water when I clean the impellers around every three months or so.
The JBL Cristalprofi are basically the same design, and are just as good as the Eheim.
I've used Eheim canisters for 20+ years, and I tend to stick with what I know, but I've used JBL on other set ups for a few years and the reliability is no par so I can recommend them too.

Yea I used to use Eheim before I went marine so was tempted by them again. I like the sound of the classic though as you can put in whatever media you like. That said, the ease of having trays to take out or fill does appeal too

I think with the classic canisters the temptation is there to pack them, which would slow the flow down.
When I ran classics 20 years ago, I used rings at the bottom, biological media in the middle and floss at the top.
it was the way things were done back then, before sponge kits were available.
I ran a 2217 thermo on a 5 foot Seabray tank housing very big Oscars and even bigger Tinfoil Barbs!, and it coped admirably.
I still think having media trays is the way to go though, for ease of maintaince.

Also would people suggest flow from spraybars on the back of the tank to the front or circular flow around the tank from outlets at opposite corners?

Spray bars if you're planning low carpet plants in front otherwise circular is grand.

Although it's rated for tanks up to 600 litres it won't provide enough flow in such a big tank.
I would add another filter , like the 1501 I recommended earlier.
even then you may be need more flow, so a wave maker /powerhead might be required to supplement flow
