Specifications! We love spec's here on UKAPS

What you got?
Size
Filter
Lights
More pics
Plants etc

Good start though................

Its 7x2.5x2.5 - 1200 litres ish however with substrate + wood etc I think its more like 1000L
filter is a hard plumbed fx5 with a diy spraybar and a drain/refil loop for water changes.
Light for now is a single 58 watt T8 while I await the LED orders.

Plants are
Lysimachia nummalaria
Clinopodium brownei
Echinodorus rose
Echinodorus hormanii
Nymphaea stellata Bulb (not germinated yet)
Cryptocoryne balansae
Cryptocoryne wend brown
Cryptocoryne wend green
Anubis I believe is nana not 100% though

Soil substrate under left hand planted corner the idea is the plants will grow to hide the filter sponge and heater capped with a unipac fine gravel

Couple of 3 foot ish pieces of bog wood for the plecs.

It'll be sat for a couple of weeks to bed in let the plants root before I introduce the fish I'm hoping I've picked species of plants that won't be plec food but who knows in a couple of weeks it could be plant free for all I know.

Depending on if it settles in and the plecs don't eat all the plants I'll stick a co2 canister on it but for now its just running plain. Ferts are EI from APF

I'll get some more pics when it clears up a little and I've finished putting the stand back together its not quite finished yet.

Nice! Bar the background

It came on the tank I can't get it off without making a real mess that I'd never be able to cover up so decided to leave it.

Tank and stand were rescued from a nursing home that was closing down. It had malawi cichlids in it :( stand had some pretty bad water damage so I've had to rebuild most of it

oh yeah the stone is grey tor it looks lovely and is making an excellent dividing wall there's about 50 kg of it in there alot of the smaller pieces you can't see as they're now under the gravel but are acting as supports for the bigger pieces.

oh yeah there's also some hc and riccia floating around in there that hitch hiked in on another plant. its busy getting itsself tangled up around the wood etc I suspect it won't last long though

nobody had any swords in when I was ordering the plants will check again in a couple of weeks before I put fish in as I'll be doing a big water change before the fish go in so the additional plant can go in then

not yet but its still early days hopefully the water should have cleared up by tonight so I'll get the camera out and get some better pictures

What plecs you putting in ? Because ive had problems with plecs and swords . Got two 4-5 cm blue phantoms in mine and they ate 3 big swords over night lol . And a tank at work has some plecs in it and theyve destroyed them . But you can always try :)

I'll be moving in my random fish collection its mainly the larger fish that don't live in my breeding tanks but I can't bring myself to get rid of. most have been inherited from others.

1x C.Siamenses
1x Torpedo Barb
1x Silver Shark
1x Red Tail Shark
1x L264
1x L190
1x L191
1x Albino BN Male
2x Blind Cave fish
3x Rainbows
1x Yoyo Loach
3x Upside down catfish
2x Common Sailfin plecs (12" and 18" long)

I fully expect them to make a mess of the plants thats why I've tried to pick hardy and fast growing plants that hopefuly won't get torn apart by the plecs. Leaving them a couple of weeks to root down should help too.

Just uploading some pictures now they'll be up soon waters gone horribly cloudy considering chucking a big bag of carbon in there to help it clear and take any of the solvent weld glue mank out.

OK this is the last set of pictures until its settled in then i'll be attempting to take some better shots once its all cleared up and hopefully grown in a little (need to remember this isn't a journal just pictures :) )
