If you have the buget and you have space in your cabinet Eheim 1200XL is a great fit. Massive bio load and plenty extra flow even if your tank is heavily planted.

This is a general problem with Pro3 filters, but i have to say head leaking was there with pro 2 too and pro1 at the electric cables. From all the pro3 series 2080s are the best ones. I am more on that to drop all kind of filter mediums which isn't that good for bio filtration. Especially if you go with high light. Filter manufacturers do not care about your planted tank at all. They sell a product which works well for fish tank and basic planted tank. Even EHEIM lates...

Yeah you need to take care of this thingie. If you clean the adapter and this fall off and put back in a wrong position the flow will decrease a lot etc.

The floating top part has too wide cuttings, so fishes shrimps can be trapped easily. Just a quick note to check it sometimes. Otherwise a good unit

One of the best filter from Eheim for sure. I also have 2 under my home tank and a couple in our gallery too. So you will not be dissapointed. Just glue the fishes and shrimps to the glass so they not jump out :lol:

If you really want a polished water use 100ml for 100L. The factory recommendation is very generous. The filter medium gets dirty too soon that way and you will be dissappointed by the effect. You need to recharge too often then. 100ml/100L gives a perfect polish even for an OptiWhite madness...

Depend on your tank size vs the ammount you used and the dirt your tank produce. I usually recharge it after 3 months.
