Tweaking a layout til you're ok with it

Thank you for your kind words. :) On the front we used Weeping moss on the Lava stones glued. Spiky went to the bottom of the large wood pieces to give a skirt effect also with superglue. There are several riccardia patches which also Superglue tied. And on the middle path Fissidens Fontanus...

Tweaking a layout til you're ok with it

Today finally photographed the tank to the contest. But before the photo shooting i made a few changes. :) Since i am running the 6x54W over this tank more than 2 weeks ago plants grown a lot. So had to do a trimming here and there. Fixed the red bushy Rotala sp on the back. This is how the...

Thank you for all of your comments. Tweaking a layout til you're ok with it

I remember in the past we've seen so many nice CAU examples and other asian ones how they refined their layout to the contests. Preparing tanks to the contest is not just about trimming and timing. Til you have time you can do almost any change to have a better appearance on your layout...

    Scaper's Day - Hungary

Thanks guys for the feedback. The thing i loved about this event that each individual leader was skilled and talented, but we tried to stay away to pick the best ones from the community. Mean the ones who usually are on the top of the contests in the past years. However the teamwork helped to...

Where to buy 'Sea mountain’ rock?

Pagoda stone is a layered stone with more white color in it and a bit of an orange. Thist stone which is on the link frequently called as Manten stone in the aquascaping world. It's grey and looks more like boulder with fine textures on it. Has lighter color than Seiryu but heavy and larger...

Where to buy 'Sea mountain’ rock?

I would check with the forum sponsors as they probably also get their stones from this place. They may can get you with their next shipment.
  22. viktorlantos

Anyone know what type of Rock this is?

Do not think this stone is available in the EU. This is an asian one. But you can get similars like basalt etc or with collecting locally something similar.

    A rather large tank!

Amazing and very challenging project. Well done guys. :) I loved the swimming pic. :)

    Nice rocks...

Cheers George, The stones are great. Refreshing to see this after many seiryu tanks. This is a light pagoda tank from our forum member: http://www.flickr.com/photos/62896412@N03/ Leopard is also nice. We used that on this nano on the left: http://www.flickr.com/photos/viktorlant ...

    Opinions on ADA Horn Wood

Yup they are very good. I love the dark color of it, the texture which makes it different from Red Moor for example. Most of them are heavier, but especially in nano sizes you can find some which might float for a few weeks. Mine shrinked all the time so i do not have negative feedback on this...

    Yanks, We suck.........

Well you may know that Mr. Amano has a specific time when he send out his team to the nature. Shoothing photos etc. So if this is scaping i really would include the nature side a bit more. How a stone looks like embedded in a hill with supportive plants. Why that looks natural as multiple...

    Yanks, We suck.........

Tom, i think you're on the wrong way. For me Art / Eye / Balance is not about contest ranking. So i would not mix the contest result with a...

ADA Old Iron Wood need soaking?

very little coloration which goes away very quickly. heavier, thicker pieces sank immediatelly. thin pieces may will float, but this is a heavy wood and sank much easier then any other like red moor, borneo etc.

Ideal would be to have the ADA CO2 tower next to the stand. http://www.adana.co.jp/en/products/na_c ... co2system/ This nano set is not for this tank really. Then the CO2 tower would match with the Super Jet filter in look and style..... But the cost.... only the CO2 tower would cost a...

    ADA step-by-step by ADG Vibe

ADA switched the production on their tanks a year ago or so. With the change the tank parameters changed too, but they found a solution with the new provider, where the glass is now more transparent on the edges. Kind of light grey or so. Whoever is still unhappy with this, the Cube Garden...
