First Planted Tank - Roma 200?

Hi Deansie, are you sure it isn't due to the lack of flow to certain areas. With it being deeper it possibly has flow restrictions to lower levels? If some plants are ok I'd guess it's more to do with flow/nutrients/Co2 etc?

First Planted Tank - Roma 200?

I had a Roma 200 as my 1st tank (few years ago now) had no problems with the height and lack of growth and that was with the 2 T8 tubes that come with it. It just meant a slower growth rate. I had 2 external filters, with spray bars along the back, 1 of which had an inline diffuser. ADA...

powerhead on a timer with co2

Why should it run 24/7? As LG said basically to give the fish a break and the powerhead is hopefully going to be the main flow for distributing co2 around th tank. So if the co2 is only on for 8 hours do I need to run the powerhead 24/7. Thanks for your input guys. Be interested to know if there...

Hi guys When visiting different stores and looking at there Cardinal Tetra, some stores seem to make there colours stand out alot more than others. Is this down to what lighting is used? Newbie Tank Set Up

Vix i'd personally put the spray bar in myself, it may slow the flow a little but I think they look neater. If your intentions are to get co2? On a 200 litre tank you would benefit from an inline reactor such as the Aquamas or Aqua Medic, which you would then benefit also with the spray bar...

    Newbie Tank Set Up

Hi Vix, You can grow majority of plants on the low light it'l just take longer for them to grow, which if you're just starting out would be the better option. The higher the light the more (when you get round to it) the more co2 & ferts and more problems etc. Try to concentate on getting good...

after some advice on set-up please

Alan.... Under low light conditions (generally less than 2 Watts per Gallon) there is normally enough CO2 for the plant to grow successfully without CO2 addition. If the light levels are increased to over 2 WPG then the plants will grow well for a period until they consume the little CO2 (normal...
