    liquid carbon /CO2 injection

Most plants on your list require gas co2 injection to flourish, liquid carbon can be used in conjunction with gas, it should cover any shortfalls while you get the gas level correct, it also acts as an algacide, always a good thing on new setups.

Cheap pressurised CO2 system DIY guide

Cheap pressurised CO2 system DIY guide

Hi Aqua, I think Henry used the elite mini to diffuse the co2(run the co2 hose straight into the filter) the impellor will break up the co2 into fine bubbles allowing better diffusion, by putting the filter on a timer say 2hours before lights on untill 1 hour before lights off will act like a...

New to CO2, advice needed please

I have 3 of the jbl regs and have found them solid bits of kit, no issues, what's your working pressure set too ? It may be a bit low to run the diffuser which could cause fluctuations, or a leak somewhere in the system.

    60ltr at 4bps???

Hi cai, which bubble counter are you using some have a very small aperture so your 4bps could be less than 1bps with a different counter, it's possible your drop checker is giving a false reading due to the small bubbles dissolving in the dc leading you to believe you have higher co2 levels, I...

    Whistling from a new JBL

Arrow is pointing to the pressure release valve, as I stated above you can unscrew this and stretch the spring slightly, the Allen key adjustment under the black rubber is the working pressure, as per rebel's question above if new I would return the Reg and have it swapped/ repaired.
  31. tim

Some silly questions about CO2 bubbles

Hi amateurfishkeeper, the only silly questions are those not asked :-) 1 a co2 bubble will dissolve as it rises, so we try and keep them suspended in the water column for as long as possible, once it leaves the surface it adds nothing to the water, any bubbles that exit the tank are wasted co2...

  70. tim

Please share your thoughts about my ph drop...

Looking at your profile though, I'd say you can increase injection rate or improve distribution 5 hours pre lights could be improved on, IMO make your adjustments slowly over say a couple of weekends if you can't increase the injection rate it is probably a flow/distribution of flow issue.

Agree with enderuk, mine comes on 3 hours before and off 2 hours before lights on my 3 footer, best to have it optimum for lights on and used up by the end of the photoperiod for the health of your livestock IMO, when I ran it to an hour before lights out my pencil fish would sit at the...
