Not a good write up for liquid carbon

Thanks Tim, in the last year or two I have been in the pond section. I shall post before and after shots of my neglected 300l and see how and if things progress.

Not a good write up for liquid carbon

I understand. You have been steadfast in that all these years. The results from CO2 injection can be fantastic, but I lost my supplier a while ago and did not find a new source. I am afraid life dictates changes and I havent been able to focus on the hobby, so all tanks have had no co2...

Not a good write up for liquid carbon

This post is like Groundhog Day. Clive as usual makes the most sense (8 October 2017) and yet as you progress through the threads it's like nobody read the original comments. I am going to auto dose on one of my tanks for the next year. It hasn't had co2 injection for somewhere like a year to...

Advice needed for largish tank (350 litres)

You dont have to make up your flow with filters, you can use powerheads in addition to your filter, but ofcourse they might be visible depending on your scape. I have a 330l (gross) tank with a 1400 l/h rated filter, but supplemented with 2x hydor koralia 1600s.

Preventing the next End of Tank Dump (EOTD)

Oh man sorry you have had to go through that. I have experienced CO2 gassing but not through cylinder dumping. Do you use a regulator with two gauges on it? Personally I have never used a inline atomiser, but have you considered CO2 reactor like the one made by Sera? You would not have to up...

    Aquamas.net

Thanks Guys. I have not heard anything yet from them. If you set up an account on thier website it only allows you to select a few european countries. Strange because it is not very many countries. It does not represent the eu for example. I have ordered a TMC 1500 from AE in the meantime as one...

    Aquamas.net

I was wondering if anyone has purchased a CO2 reactor from this German site recently (last 12 months or so)? I bought two reactors from them in Jun/Jul 2008 and one has started leaking. If I cant seal it, I was looking to potentially purchase a replacement. The site is in German, but in thier...

    Co2 Atomizer Vs. Reactor

I have only used reactors, I find them hassle free. I did consider UP atomizer on a 120 litre, but I just kept reading people having issues with them. Also are they suitable for large tanks... I guess to since the the gas is taken along by the externals.

UP inline co2 or the new super mist diffuser

Thats odd, i used this diffuser on my 400 litre and it was attatched through my eheim 2080 outlet which 16/22 mm hose. Maybe email Richard at Aquaessentials to clarify. Ill check when i can find it since ive recently moved house and stuff is all over the place in boxes.

Sodastream CO2 - My DIY setup...

I like the alternative approach to using c02 supply for a small tank. I think refills on 500kg cylinders are steep even at £10 each, but that I feel is down to limited supply. It also depends how long it lasts for. Alternative sources is a good thing to know about. My 2x 5 kg cylinders are...

    Drop Checker position

I have 3 in my tank one is at the substrate, odd thing is that one tends to be more yellow/green than the ones higher up.

    co2 is it worth it

I acclimitise them slowly to the higher co2 environment. I usually turn the air pump on aswell or do so post waterchange. If i were to introduce them without doing this they get stressed. Once acclimitised they do not have a problem with co2.

    co2 is it worth it

The big tank is currently full of rainbowfish to the disgust of some people on here. lol I need to update with a photo. It has grown some more, but someone (or some many) have been nibbling on some of the more tender plants...Staurogene thicket is somewhat desimated.

    co2 is it worth it

I think co2 would benefit the system. Adding co2 to this system would make it one of the elements that are not limiting. BTW there are two or three species that come under SAE. Crosocheilus siamensis is not actually a species. C.langei the is the larger type and is the one known for tackling...

    When to refill co2?

Hi guys, sorry for this, I did a search but could not find it, perhaps im being thick. I thought I had seen a discussion on here as to when you should refill the co2 canister because below a certain level the regulator is less stable and could dump all the remaining co2 into the aquarium at...

    Heavy duty CO2 inline reactor

George, I bought my two across from Europe over the internet. They were the German made from Aquamas: http://www.aquamas.de/CO2-Zubehoer/CO2-Reaktoren. I just used free internet translators to work out whats what and ordered, no problems and 70% of Germans are supposed to be able to understand...

Getting good CO2 distribution with 2 filters

I put my co2 reactors on my lowest specced filters 2x ex1200s. These are also used for inline heating of the water. The reason being I wantd to keep the more powerful filters optimal. However as mentioned you could supplement with powerheads to up the flow.

    Dosing with Vodka???

I was wondering whether vodka would be an accessible form of carbon for plants... hey ho, it was just a passing thought. :D

    Dosing with Vodka???

Just a thought, a few people in the Reef keeping realm dose vodka into their reef systems to help feed the denifrifying bacteria and build up the population, one of the biproducts of this CO2. I wonder hmmm...

    CO2 reactors???

Erm...ive never used these, but I am think ingthey might be ideal over my current system whihc is a JBL diffuser. my current aqaurium is 400 litrs and i may upgrade to an 800litre. I have seen the Aqua medic 1000: http://www.aquaticbiotope.co.uk/Scripts ... roduct=827 I am not sure though...
