    Can Tetras kill shrimp?

Might not be anything but expected loss of a couple of the shrimp due to transport? With established three month old tank ,perhaps the other's are just busy munching on hardscape /substrate, for the abundance of biofilm/microbial critter's/infusoria that has developed with age.? If all of the...

    Water Change Advice

Rasboras, most other fishes, would happily view shrimps as snacks (like a fat kid on cake). Baby shrimplet's are very, very small.

    Amano shrimp preying on Otto's?!

Not many HEALTHY fishes, that could not/would not avoid Amano shrimp. I hear these stories on the web all the time ,and cannot help but think that fishes being drug around by shrimp were weakened, or near death, lest they easily swim away. Fully prepared now to hear the stories once more,, of...

    Amano and Blue Ram

Wise in my view to do the water change a day before possibly placing new fish from quarantine? into the display tank. This gives the new fishes no matter species a week to further acclimate to our tank's before next scheduled water change. I would be more tempted to try and source young Ram's...

    Amano and Blue Ram

I think the ram's would pay not much attention to the Amano shrimp up until nesting area's are invaded. Then the Amano may pay a price.

Cherry Shrimp Breed In Soft Water

I might try and source some food's containing fair amount of calcium (I like Hikari Crab Quisine) that the shrimp need for structural development and molting. Soft water and hard water tend to get gradually softer over time in the tank (month's)and Calcium/Mg therein could be less and less over...

    Shrimp Safe Fish

I think tiny shrimplet's are fair game for nearly all fish no ? Might keep colony in another tank for insurance against fishes decimating them in community setting. This way you don't loose too much/many.

CRS and Ei Dosing (copper) ?

Believe you would have to dose way in excess of EI with the CSM+B for it to become toxic for shrimp. I use it a couple times a week in low tech with cherry shrimp/amano and no issues. Seachem's flourish comprehensive has less copper and I have used it as well.

    Keeping shrimp - basic questions

Mine do well with 50% water change each week and algae wafer's, New life spectrum pellet's for large fish. I don't use CO2 so cannot comment on what effect's Excel or CO2 fluctuation's that twice weekly water changes might bring would/could have on them. I use Foam over filter intakes and there...

    Assassin snails breeding questions

Yes, I read through the thread for this was a concern for me. I have a few hundred's of cherry shrimp and doubt the snail's could put much of a dent in the population, but I will keep an eye out just the same. Was funny to me,,,when snail's arrived they must have had algae,or some type of bio...

    Assassin snails breeding questions

I recently bought a dozen for 300L tank with way more trumpet snail's than I want. Cherry shrimp's made trapping the snail's difficult without also having to sort out the tiny shrimp as well. Assassin's according to what I found on web,(WetWeb media) are carnivorous so some type of food other...
