Due to work I am not at home as often so I have invested in a doser, regarding liquid carbon, is it better do dose all in one go or space it out throughout the day, or doesn't it matter?
Ive just added some frogbit but it seems to clump where spraybar is and in a corner, I need a good surface water flow so how can I keep the plants all together and stop them piling up in a corner?
Thanks
I use a zip bag and just spray water inside the bag just to keep it moist and put in smallest box possible. Because its light you can post a small parcel maximum size is 35cmx25cmx16cm for £2.95 at post office.
+1 for Tropica soil, I've used it on all my tanks, big and small, its so easy to use and plants grow excellent in it. And its black.
Ive used both soil and powder and much prefer the powder as I find it holds the plants better initially but that might just be me.
Or you could use Tropica...
unless you are a vet and can perform fish autopsies you will probably never know why the fish died, its just one of those things, you only have to look at all forums for 'why did my fish die', if your water is good and no ammonia, nitrites etc it is just one of those things.
I had 8 GBR's about...
they come in 50 gallon all the way to 300 gallon per day but this the optimal output, I have a 150 gpd unit and I fill a 300 litre water storage tank in 10 hours, so it depends on how much and how often you change water
You need an ro unit if you want to keep softwater fish or use tapwater and keep hardwater fish.
I only use ro water on my Discus tank, all my other tanks are hard tapwater which is purely for ease of use really so I only keep hardwater fish in those tanks.
So it really depends on what fish you...
The best way is an RO unit with a pump if you have low water pressure. I can only recommend what I use and I use Vyair without issue for years.
you don't say how hard your water is, it might not need softening, a few more details about your water params would be good and what size tank you have.
wow if you cant have an adult rational conversation with somebody that disagrees with you then why do you bother with forums as you are always obviously right.
People like you are one of the reasons forum numbers are dropping, so if you can add anything to this debate without resorting to stupid...
so you've never used it judging by your comment so how can you know it doesn't work?
If you can show me proof that it doesn't work then I will accept that it doesn't work, otherwise are you saying that everybody who says a certain product does work is a lyer?
I just asked for reviews from people...
I can definitely vouch for the reef version but freshwater is a different kettle of fish and its hard to find any reviews on it, but loads of the reef side of things, so it leads me to believe the freshwater version doesn't work.
Has anybody used or is using vibrant freshwater?
Ive used the reef version on my reef tank with good results but cant find much info on the freshwater version.
Im only looking for info on the product not the 'you need to look at the cause'.
If money, time and space was no object, what brand and what tank and equipment would you buy?
Just curious really as I have a mate who is just in the process of setting up a very large tank and really money isn't an issue with him, he is buying the most expensive equipment possible just because...
I think if it works then it cant be irrelevant, Just because something is new or modern doesn't mean its better, so I think its still relevant. I also have a copy and find it an excellent read
Livestock needs should always be put first regardless of what you are. I'm a recent convert from the salty side of things and I must admit that I am drawn to having tanks without livestock in them just to relax watching them and potter about with them without having to worry about any livestock.
Hi Guys I have a tank which is looking a bit bland with just a few bits of stone and wood in it and gravel, ive had this tank for about 4 years and I don't want to strip it all and replace gravel with soil or anything like that, I just want to add some plants I can attach to the wood and...
Once your tank has cycled I see no need for test kits, your plants will tell you of any deficiancies you have so save your money and spend it on some more plants or fish.
Just looked at the GHL and cant justify paying that much for a machine that at the end of the day just doses liquid.
I have had jebao/jecod equipment on my reef tank and have never had any problems but not sure if I trust them enough with a doser.
Not really diy minded, would rather pay for...
