    10L inspiration

It is indeed. I came second in the competition but it all came down to facebook likes over the quality of the scape (my scape was rubbish compared to the standards on here!) However the two runners up still got £20 worth of aps vouchers on top of the tank that id won getting to the final stages.

manzanita wood :) *PLACING ORDER WITH TOM BARR* page 2.

well the most that UK postage should cost is £15 that can cover upto 30kg 1.5mx1.5m and that is on a 48hr delivery insured and tracked. but that is just what I know with parcelforce. I would imagine I could get it a lot cheaper for smaller pieces. cheaper still if I shop around.

Cheers everyone. I will try and get hold of Tom Barr this evening to sort out some rough figures and time-frames. Meanwhile I will be placing a small order with a UK based supplier that I have found to 'test the water'

manzanita wood :) *PLACING ORDER WITH TOM BARR* page 2.

Evening gents, if this many people are interested would it be worthwhile me putting in an order with tom barr? I only need two select pieces but if enough people were interested i would place an order. by the sounds of it for a large box it would be around £150ish. Failing that I have a UK...

manzanita wood :) *PLACING ORDER WITH TOM BARR* page 2.

This may of been done before but I am in the process of 'negotiating' a price with a supplier for manzaniti wood. However, the prices vary so much across the uk. How much should I be looking to pay for it? it will all be dried and I can get two types with bark on (some of these have...

Manzanita-is this suitable for aquarium use. if so does anyone need any?

MODERATORS if links are not allowed please remove it. I have seen this wood on ebay and would like to know your opinions if it would be ok? I am going to ask the seller if it has been treated in any way. i think it would look superb in my discus tank. 10-Pack 22" Manzanita Centerpiece...

New Scape in the discus tank.

Cheers! I'd never actually thought of using another substrate. Maybe a path through the middle? But with using sand how would i keep it seperate?

New Scape in the discus tank.

howdy all! after getting my tank in november and being a novice at the planted tank i went out and bought lots of plants and threw them in. shortly after i threw a lot of discus in there too! over the months i have got to learn about co2, scaping, and ferts so today i decided to rescape the...

    Coffee table idea anyone?

what light do you have now? if your using co2 and dosing ferts the light should be more than enough.

    Aquascaping underwater island ideas.....

Basically im thinking about rescaping. I have a 4ft discus tank thats a bit of a mess at the moment. I have in mind two underwater islands one with a large wood centerpiece and the other with a smaller piece. I wouod plant around them heavy and leave the black sand surrounding them. I was...

    Itchy fingers?

Believe it or not, ive already got a full on hairgrass lawn, or im pretty sure its hairgrass? Its sent runners everywhere and spread like wildfire. The only problem is that I feed beefheart 5 times a day and it tends to get caught up in the plants. I shall look into the plants youve reccomended...

    Itchy fingers?

Does this.happen much? I feel myself looking at my planted diiscus tank and wanting to rip everything up. To be fair the scape that is there now is not much of a scape, as the plants were just thrown in to see whish faired better at higher temps. At the moment its staying as it is as my discus...

    planning a rescape!

Makes perfect sense thanks! Im still not 100% with what I want to do, I might draw up some designs tomorrow evening. The carpet im not too fussed sbout ripping up as I know it will take again, the plants have more than quadrupled since being in.there!
  31. krazypara3165

    planning a rescape!

As above, my tank has been running for around three months now, the plants that struggled have long gone and im planning on doing a major rescape as i know know the temperaments of the plants and the discus are constantly hiding in the growth at the back so i would like to mix things up a...

    Prepping wood for the tank

I can be k to go straight away! The tannins will take a few weeks to be fully removed from the wood but if you have carbon in your filter it should take care of it. Either way its not toxic to the fish :)
