These solenoids fail quite often, especially the cheaper type, its normally the electric positioner that fails, so even if the led is lit the magnetic field isn't being generated, and therefore the valve will not open. just bypass (or remove it) it for now until you get a new one. ;)

These guys are good, if you take your CGA 320 bottle and purchase a paintball fill kit from ebay, they can then refill for you!

Some come with a DIN 477 stem and some with a CGA 320. The CGA 320 is for the TMC bottle ( same as paintball bottles) DIN 477 uk standard CO2 bottles (FE pub bottle etc)

dont worry about counting bubbles! just use the bubble counter as a visual guage to tell you co2 is on if you want, Have a good needle valve and increase the co2 slowly until you see signs of stress on fish, then back it off a touch:)

I have the tmc. The needle valve is pants. I added a better one. Like most people find 10-15 turns is better than 3. You will have to adjust the co2 rate as the tank gets more dense with growth. So the needle valve is the most important.

It's not good practice to operate co2 in any position other than upright.

No the clip is holding the electro magnet on the solenoid shaft. Remove clip with pliers and remove black unit. Valve should now be closed. Give it a gentle tap and refit.

Sounds that there is a problem with your reg. Something internally is sticking i think. As you mentioned when you leave it set at 2 bar the co2 does not flow when the soliniod opens. You have to turn up the pressure then turn it back down again to get it going, ( or free the metal blockage...

I have changed my vote! From TMC needle valve. Not happy with control of CO2 from these types of needle valve. They only have 2-3 turns from closed to open. I have changed to a HOKE Micro 1600 series. It has 18 turns and is a lot more precise. :D

I am pretty sure this is Din to CGA so that you can use TMC's 500g paintball type co2 can. You want CGA to Din, i have not found one yet. Best to buy the DIN stem i think. :D

Yep thats the one, like i said i have two of them, the one that has broken has a different solenoid to this picture. It is only about 1 year old, so out of warranty. The other which looks just like your picture is 3 years old and still working.

If you have the money buy the dual stage and seperate solenoid and seperate needle valve, this is the concensus over at barr report and as i have found TMC are worse than useless.
