    Recommend a needle valve?

Cv is the Flow Coefficient, (in fear of getting shouted at!!!!) it does not really tell us anything unless we know Pressure drop (Dp) and specific gravity (Gf) etc. You need to measure how much co2 you are using per min in ml and then look for a valve that will provide this and a bit more with...

    Recommend a needle valve?

I use swagelok and hoke micrometer needle valves. They are easy to adjust they have gradients on the handle so that you know how many turns you have operated. They are more expensive than the needle valves found in the aquatic shops but 10x better. And they do come up on eBay now and again...

Turning off electrical devices with ph meter

I personally don't get a difference in reading when electrical is on or off. But I know flow effects ph reading. So if you take your reading in static water and then in high flow from filter you should get a different reading. Hope this helps.

DIY Project Water change heater project.

super write up :) another way to heat water from a stored barrel is to pump through an electric heater. And if you want to keep cost down use an old electric shower for the job:)

    CRISIS!!!!

Are the three braces at even distances across the length of the tank? You need to use aquatic safe silicone, check your local LFS I would sugest a couple of F-clamps instead of duct tape, or even a box clamp. You will also need to put some cross braces in aswell Is the tank new? if so send...

    CRISIS!!!!

Firstly dont panic! Brace bars can be replaced. I am not a tank builder but i would think that 6mm glass is too thin for a 200ltr 4ft tank. There is a lot of pressure on the front and back pannels across 4ft. I would sugest 3 braces minimum. As you can see in your pic there is only a small...

    Electronic bubble counter

I don't know what to say, sorry i disagree :) There is. :) You will need a mass flow controller, I doesn't count bubbles it measures flow in ml/m for example :) These are costly and are not needed for most hobbiests. But you may be a contender, i also find bubble counters crude and useless :)

    Electronic bubble counter

I was looking at this one http://www.coleparmer.co.uk/Product/Flowmeter_with_metric_reading_scale_5_50_mL_min/WZ-32460-30

    Electronic bubble counter

I will try and find my thread over at the barr report. But i will add, that you can reduce your bubble rate and keep the co2 level constant by decreasing surface agitation and increasing co2 diffusion and circulation As for cost mass flow controller, circa £900 Rotameter, circa £40-£200

    Electronic bubble counter

I looked into this ages ago. You can use a rotameter ( the little glass thing with the ball) Or even better a mass flow controller. :) I found both at cole palmer, but i needed to buy 10 to get discount :(

An steel fabricators or engineers out there??

I was toying with the idea of macking a spray bar from 17mm stainless the length of my tank. It would bend up and over like a lily pipe then bend 90 deg to run along tank, then bend back up 90 deg loop over tank and be capped.

An steel fabricators or engineers out there??

I made my own out of 17mm stainless tube for one tank and 13mm for my nano. i based them on the eheim green plastic lily pipes. Really easy to do, buy the tube from ebay and use a pipe bender to shape. i also squashed the jet end in a vice. Then pick up some shrimp guards from gush :D job...

Looking for good quality ADA style cabinets...???

DIY for me too! I'm not a joiner or wood worker. knocked one up over 4 weekends. Used MDF (next time i will use MR MDF), sprayed it with Plasticoat. less than £100 for a 90x45x75 high. The Green Machine are very competative though. I will stick up for them as i had several quotes from cabinet...

    Juwel Light Problem

Hi My Juwel Tbar light suffered the same problem, i believe it is quite common. The Starter is on its way out and will fail. I replaced mine. I cut the bottom of the Tbar open with my dremel, sourced a new starter from ebay. fitted it then sealed a bit of plastic using aquatic sealant to the...
