They will eat most foods that they can catch in their fans even large items such as bloodworms
A good frozen food that I like to use on them and small fish is cyclops

I have two of the aquael shrimp tanks
Love them
In the 19 litre one I swapped to a hang on the back filter and also put the heater in it

Like anything aquatic the bigger the volume of water the better
You wont get much at all from a 1litre bottle don’t think it will actually work
Lots of videos on YouTube about raising daphnia
I use 100 gallon plastic ponds to do it and it’s still hit and miss sometimes

I had a friend who set up a standard fish Polybox on a shed roof added salt to the correct level and added some eggs
They hatch and grew to adults
In fact that Polybox kept producing brine shrimp for a few years without him doing a single thing to it
It froze in winter and baked in summer...

Just that I’ve only seen them kept on specific substrates before and can’t find anything that shows them on a soil one so wondered if there was any reason

so theres no real downside to snails, too many and you are overfeeding, but better the snails est it than it pollute the tank and a squashed one makes a tasty snack for the fish and shrimp :-)
no they dont do any harm, it was thought years ago that they ate your plants, but they dont do any harm and in small nannois they can mop up any decaying matter, so they are a clean up crerw :-)
i have trumpet snails in my trigon 350 but there not happy at present due to me taking all the substrate out , i have some small snails in my 20 litre along with a couple of native water hog lice ( aquatic version of wood lice ) got some ramshorns outside want to bring some in but im not putting...
