    Starting point Paludarium

Thanks, My 260 litre has a lid and is plenty humid without the lights on. Those foggers seem to be a bit hit or miss but I do like the idea of some mist .

    Starting point Paludarium

Are you using a mister/ fogger? I'm tempted to expose my wood/ epiphytes by lowering the water level, I think they would dry out with the lights on ( 5 hours per day)

    Bolbitis heudelotii

Its nice I expect it needs humidity

    Misting system

Have you looked at paludarium sites? Something like exo-terra

    Misting system

Yeah, but you can employ a boy to spray the plants every 45 minutes.

    20cm of water, ideas

rice would need to be grown on before planting in the tank, so its leaves break the surface.

    20cm of water, ideas

Cyperus should do well, eleocharis Montevidensis if you can find it. Most hygrophilas, big echinodorus, ficus. How about growing some rice?

    They look great.

    Propagating through pollination

Thinking about it, to have such a narrow gene pool could be a precarious situation.

    Propagating through pollination

of course, different genetic material is preferable, cuttings form the same plant are genetic clones, thus the same. im sure darrel would be able to offer some insight

    Pics of my emersed stuff

you need to cut just above a leaf node. The junction where the leaf meets the stem. Cutting half way will encourage die back and rot. Same goes for little fingers ;)

    pothos

have a look at its cousins in the ipomea range, some lovely climbers. my all time fave is bomarea hirtella -unrelated though.
  17. darren636

    pothos

that is bindweed. Man i hate that stuff.... Bloody brittle underground roots that proliferate my darkest dreams....
  18. darren636

    pothos

variegation is a viral action (i think) i have never seen an all green pothos... probably because all the plants in the country are all clones!
  19. darren636

    pothos

easiest plant in the world. Really hate variegation though.

    POT PLANTS

can ficus be submerged? or just the roots dangling in the water?

My emersed plants - Adventures, tries and failures

that is great, emersed growth makes tanks seem very exotic. looks like you will have to raise the light unit.
  22. darren636

    echinodorus

you would need to condition the plant for life out of water again. The leaves will be suited to life submerged.
  23. darren636

    echinodorus

echinodorus do change lead shape under water. Shame.
