For small tanks Tropica plants, and Tropica ferts has always worked well for me.

Well familar with Java, now have sevaral portions of xmas moss, some are loose, others on plastic webbing. What im after is , will it eventually adhere to bogwood/rock in time, or does it always need to be held/tied or sandwiched.

Interesting, i have a similar growth on my wood. From looking at the description of algaes, it would appear in my case to be cladophora-- blanket weed. I have follewed the suggestions to physically remove it, and try and avoid Low CO2. and Low nutrient levels. Oh the joys of my first planted...
