Inline CO2 diffuser for Sunsun HW3000

https://www.jbl.de/en/products/detail/7319/jbl-proflora-direct?country=us#6334100 I've got one of these (16/22mm) but never used it, but I'm sure @Zeus. used to use them at high velocity so I would think they are half decent. If I do ever get around to using mine I'm going to strip it down and...

CO2 - How do you get started easily and safely?

I'm afraid I don't mate, certainly not for a 100l tank and you would be locking yourself into a system that requires you to pay £46.99 + P&P for a replacement 800g cylinder. Sure you can get adaptors/find cheaper alternatives but you might as well begin with a decent Regulator and work backwards...

CO2 - How do you get started easily and safely?

Hi, I personally have got a lot of time for Colombo and their offerings but I wouldn't use the kit you have linked purely because of the price and the fact that the bottles are single use. (Again I personally think) you would better off using for example, Strideways Pro CO2 Regulator + 2kg co2...

CO2Art Pro-SE with Camozzi needle valve

Good review and info. One thing I noted with mine (similar set up) is that the bubbles seemed to be smaller going through the same bubble counter as was fitted to the standard needle valve and thus I had to increase the rate. All the same, it appeared to be more crisp and precise. Cheers!

    CO2 reactor help

Again only talking from my own experience but the working pressure does not need to be that high, I run mine at 10 psi. The higher WP rates are only really needed for diffusers.

    CO2 reactor help

I've got one of these but it's still unused in the box, but have had (and do have) different Reactors over the last 10 years or so, and what I will say is they take a fair bit of tuning to hit the sweet spot, getting the flow correct and to merge with the right bubble count. I have mine coming...

Help to Set Up CO2 Art Kit With Fluval FX6 External Filter

Yes, just insert a check valve (the right way round) where the line is already cut (or nearer to the bubble counter if you want), put the above mentioned diffuser on the end of the line and drop it in, a couple of sucker/clips will keep it neat. Hope this helps!

Effect of CO2 on New Fish

From my experience unless you are preparing a six month plan, stem heavy, IALPC entry then there really isn't any reason to be injecting at the higher end. 15-20 mg/l is enough for most community tanks, the key for me is stability. At around 15mg/l I've never had a problem adding fish in the...

Morning, CO2 Art advertise this New Bazooka Flux_ Diffuser – Large for Tanks above 250L – CO2Art | Aquarium CO2 System Specialists but I use a reactor so I have no practical experience of using one. They also advertise one for aquariums under 250l so I presume it does matter. Cheers!

    CO2 , dawn and dusk

This is what I do a 10 minute start up and then later a 45 minute wind down to have some early evening aesthetics. What @PARAGUAY mentions above will alleviate the problem, I think my use of a surface skimmer intake assists in degassing having a similar effect. As @John q states 'Also worth...

What exactly is fluctuating CO2 in relation to BBA

I totally agree with this with a tuft forming on the inside of my lily pipe when I've not cleaned it for a while, but I also occasionally find a tuft under a Buce close to the substrate where there is probably less flow and more organic waste.

How do I make this CO2 reactor more efficient

Hi, You might find that you require the exact correct water flow rate for whatever amount of CO2 that you are injecting. Most reactors have a sweet spot therefore setting up a simple bypass to control the flow rate through it might be a wise decision before butchering it, it's not cheap. Cheers!

CO2 cylnder gets empty very quick

I'm sure there must be a sweet spot for this reactor somewhere but I gave up on mine (tried with the supplied Bioballs, empty and with Siporax) after a month or so not being able to find it. That was using a variable flow pump on a 230l tank. I either couldn't get a 1 PH drop or it was spewing...

ph profile for 230l tank - confusing results

Hi, Something is not quite making sense to me, I don't know how you can have PH7 tap water with KH13 (assuming the above parameters are the result of testing your tap water) coupled to the fact that your degassed water has a PH of 8.5. I can't see anything in your tank which would raise the PH...

Drop checker still lime green in the morning

Hi, There's not very much information there for anyone to make a proper diagnosis. Does your tank have a lid which will help retain CO2, do you have any form of surface skimmer which will aid in off-gassing, do you run an airstone overnight which will also aid in off-gassing, have you checked...

Whats wrong with my co2 setup

I can't argue with ADA, my bad. I'm sure you must have a leak somewhere, my bubble count is fractionally higher than @erwin123 on a 90x55x53, although I am using a reactor. Cheers!

Whats wrong with my co2 setup

None of the CO2 line from here appears to have any of the clamping collets fitted and the check valve looks like an airline check valve to me (I may be wrong). Using an inline diffuser requires high pressure (30 PSI approx) and the gas will find any weak points in the loop. The bubble count...

    Sera CO2 reactor 500

Hi, The working pressure of the reactor should be much less than with a diffuser, I'm not sure but maybe the amount of gas in the bubble would actually less at lower pressure. I've used 3 x 5kg FEs on my 230l tank in 2 years using the AM1000 and I would say that is quite economical and no...

Reactor questions / how long is a piece of overthinking?

As I said above, you are still going to utilise a filter which can be set up to scavenge from the bottom. You don't really want any form of detritus (or sand) entering your CO2 loop. Or am I missing something? BTW I enjoy being part of your musings ;):)

Reactor questions / how long is a piece of overthinking?

Morning Hufsa, I'm really struggling with this one, surely having the intake nearer to the top of the tank, installing a SS filter guard (or foam) and doing maintenance when the CO2 pump is switched off will be enough to keep the sand at bay? Leaving the Filter inlet close to substrate to...

    Testing CO2 by sampling PH?

Hi, It might not reach PH7.2 if there is residual CO2 i.e. your aquarium hasn't fully degassed during lights/CO2 off (depending on whether you have skimmer, airstone etc running during this period which will affect this parameter). That is why we measure our starting PH in water that has been...
