Yes, test strips are notoriously inaccurate, I would expect your water to have a pH of around what your supplier quoted. Slight fluctuations are inevitable depending on the time of year (amount of rain etc). They don't look to me like limestone but it is difficult to tell for sure without doing...

I'd be tempted to give it longer, as you say there is root and shoot growth. Only when the Rhizome turns to mush would I fully give up. Bear in mind, Buce are a lot slower growing than most other plants. Tell me, how is your Hobbit doing, I can't quite make it out in your photographs? Cheers!

Obviously the choice is yours but if you could exchange the large for the medium or if money is not much of a problem I'd go with 13mm set. I think you would get slightly better flow and it would definitely be more aesthetically pleasing. Cheers!

While the drop checker is an important visual indicator of CO2 levels it must be remembered they usually have a 2 hour time lag so your readings don't look too far out. In the second photo it looks like you're beginning to get a deposit of detritus on the leaves, giving your plants a good waft during water changes, maybe increasing flow and the addition of snails and shrimp (if your tank is fully cycled) will aid. Who needs a tank for a dark start…. Let’s see.

Nope, but the SS jet pipe intake is 2/3 the way up the tank. The slots on the intake are not big enough to let anything too large to pass through, any minute bits of plant matter that finds its way through probably just gets chopped up by the impeller. It wouldn't hurt to put a Intake Strainer...

No and yes. The Sera reactor is tie wrapped to the original Aqua Medic bracket as this was originally going to be temporary.
