Hi Amir, I would normally say up the co2, but at 7-8 bubbles per sec you should have sufficient co2, so it could be a problem with the reactor as everything else seems fine as per your specs. Also try placing your drop checker closer to the bottom to see if the readings are the same to ensure...
The more light the the higher the uptake need for Co2 and ferts which means faster growth which is great if you want to fill the tank within a few months but you will be able to grow with the two tubes a long as you have the right co2 and ferts personally I have succeed with more lights and more...
Hi Greg, welcome to the side where the grass is greener :)
I would strongly recommend a pressurised co2, 2kg FE is ideal and fairly simple to set up, as many people have said before, not enough co2 is far less forgiving and tank full unwanted algae is disheartening. Most ups and downs in a tank...
This is a very valid point an precisely why I haven't bought one yet, as I don't want to spend money on something I may already have, I have started to aerate the tank at at lights out since I first heard about this product a week ago by lifting the Lilly pipe enough to make some bubbles, this...
Does anyone know what the lifespan of these units are, as I read on this TWINSTAR website under the experiment report one of the posters mentioned part of the unit has to be replaced after a year... Any insight?
Well I must say I am tempted however I think it's a little bit pricey @ £155 for the nano and I would have hoped for something more discreet for that price, hopefully some sort of inline equivalent will be released, one thing I did notice on some pictures on the web it appears to keep pipes and...
Hey guys I want to get an electric toothbrush to clean the rocks as I am fed up of using a manual one, can I fully submerge the electric ones in water? I'm looking to buy one from tesco as I can get an oral B one for under £20
Hi Jaap, my advice would be to use a decent substrate system which will provide the plants with the vital nutrients it needs to flourish and will probably help compensate if any slight lack of fert dosing, also co2 is key, don't hold back but don't kill the inhabitants :) either make or buy some...
At the end of the day, ADA product are a rip off in the UK, does anyone know where to get their products cheaper without flying over to the US or any other countries...?
Hi I am interested in some wood looking for plenty of single lenths of wood some think and some fin, tall and short, twists and bends, to scape a 120x45x45 cm, wanting 4 or 5 of the thicker peices to be tall enough to go above the water surface.. let me know
Hey guys I swiched to the pond version a good year ago because it lasts a hell of alot longer than the one made for aquariums, I was a little concerned as it kinda smells like its gone off. I cant find an expiry date so I was wondering what you guys think?
Hey Andy,
I think that with your lighting you would probably have the most sucessful growth with the ricca all you've got to do is tie it so some flat rocks let it grow and trim it. The other otion is the Hair grass, it really is a nice plant and I have succefuly grown it under T8 Lighting but...
im having a tough time with this plant at the moment and I have 100% HC in my tank and nothing else but only after a good year of aquascaping have i realized that i was dosing the wrong ammounts of KN03 and I have upped the dosage to proper level and the hc seems to be much greener and...
thanks for the advice guys, I have noticed some white spots that appear to be eggs on the stones and some in the filter inlet. I used to have the same eggs in my main tank but never saw any of the little critters to go with it.
Hey everyone, back from my trip to thailand and found in my shrimp tank some little critters in the tank, I have tried to find a pic online but have had no luck so I turn to where I know I can get some decent advice, basicly they are the size of a small pin head, round/oval shaped with a...
Sounds to me like your after a low maintanance setup and I know many of the scapers on here have some threads posted in the journals section of the forum which will probably give you alot of guidance. I think the key is probably picking the correct plants that will tollorate your parameters and...
Every single tank is emaculate in that video, I've never seen glass so squeeky clean, they must have some ADA squeegee or something. Im so curious to see whats running inside the cabinet. Great inspiration too
I think the main cause of BBA is fluctuating levels of co2, and the most effective way to tackle is up the co2 until the drop checker is glowing yellow (keep an eye out for gasping fish), manually as much BBA as you can and spot dose easycarbo, I get a syringe 1ml easycarbo and suck the rest of...
Very interesting tank idea, I am just going to be completly ignorant here an suggest something, is it possible to have the tank constructed out of one way glass on the bathroom side so you can see in the tank but the livingroom will see a mirror? I dont even know if this is possible, sounds...
I also have a rio 125 and I have recently had an outbreak ok BBA! I find the most effective remedy is to turn the filter off and directly inject easycarbo onto the BBA using a platic syringe, local chemist will sell them for pennies, leave it for a good 10 mins and turn the filter back on. It...
No shading... the other plants are doing well I mean Dwarf hairgrass is spreading nicely I just suppose im impatient. I think a frequen feed is on the cards so my HC doesn't become a snack...
Thanks for the advice.
Vito
Hey guys, just been browsing some of the journals and I noticed the dates of pics and growth rates are phenomenal. I was under the impression my setup was pretty high-tech but I my HC doesn't seem to be sending shoots and also seems to be vanishing...
My setup is a Juwel Rio 125.
Substrate...
Hey Darren, I've used http://www.java-plants.com/ and they came in top condition and all in neat seperate bags which made it ideal, I think its £30 min order but they have many diffrent plants and I will be using them again soon.
Vito
I've always said U-K-aps.
I am always aked by my missus, "when are you getting some big fish?"
I reply with "Its about the scape not the fish"
"but why" she says.
