Hi Tom I've got a piece of Hornwood in my MiniM, and have had no colour leaching at all ( its about 3months old now ). Its certainly a hefty wood, and mine never tried to float at all. I'm sure you'll have no problems with it. Cheers Tony

Ah, ok. You could put something on the bottom of the tank (towel / polystyrene / cardboard ) so you can play with the hardscape positioning within the tank - it'll give you (and everyone else) a much better idea of how the scape will work. Or just wait :D Tony

Hi Steve Looking very good there. Prefer the 2nd layout myself, easier on the eye. Just a thought on your background, I've just bought some window frosting film from ebay, and used it on my nano (and going on my others too ). It smoothly diffuses the back wall of the tank so you cant see...
