This has the makings of a good triangular composition. I like the tank size too, I'd quite like a tank this shape.

I still think Rummies are the fish for this scape. ;) My Nerites have never laid eggs, and even if they do I'm sure it won't post that much of a problem.

I do :lol: that's a minor issue in the scape, though. You'll sort it out. Like the other guys are saying, it's best to trim it down. Maybe not to the substrate, but about 5mm above.

Cool, I can recommend TGM's graded gravel - very nice stuff and cheap too. Keep us posted! :D

No.4 for me too, it's very different but works well - which is good, you want to be different.

Re: Aaron's 240l journal! 18l doesn't seem that much for a 240l tank... You'll need quite a bit of whatever you choose to fill it out with.

I still don't get how you superglue Anubias to wood... So, you want to superglue the Anubias flat onto a piece of bogwood, right? Do you just dab a bit inbetween the roots and then slap it on? Oh, and this looks like another promising scape from what I can see! It's great that your mum loves...

Those Embers look great in that last shot! They'll look even better when they fully colour up, great choice.

I am indeed thinking of adding some moss to the foreground, good idea. I was also thinking of getting some Cherry Shrimp, but might have to get rid of the Gouramis first. :lol: The foreground isn't that dirty - most of that is fine gravel etc but it's just come out like that in the photo for...

You probably lost your Rams because of rthe ammonia that Aquasoil realeases when first added. This is a nice looking tank, plants look quite healthy! Have you got a recent full-tank shot?

Nice! I'm sure he loves it. Here's a few simple tips that seem to work for me: - Switch the room lights off, tank iights on - as much light on the tank as possible - Flash off, but experiment with diffusing the flash by covering it with white paper (maybe several layers)

I LOVE the second from last photo. It looks so natural and has great depth/sense of scale to it. If I didn't know this was an aquascape, that photo could've been taken outside.

I have to say that looks much better. Have you thought about sloping the substrate into a heap where the wood is?

What about a Crypt or Fern?

I think the hardscape is fine, it works as a jungle-type scape. I think the gravel will add much more definition to the scape, have you thought about adding some Crypts?

This has to be one of my favourite tanks of all time. I just love everything about it!

How long did it take you from start to finish to plant this up, Tom? It must've taken days! Also, how do you maintain a tank this size (e.g. perform maintenance, especially nearer the substrate)?

Your tank looks great! Can't wait to see what you do with this. Have you considered a smaller Crypt for the foreground? Parva? That tank is definately a Barr creation - I remember seeing it on TFF.

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi That's exacatly why you shouldn't stop posting in your journals, Mark! We all can learn from your journals, both beginners and experts - we can all take something from it and images play a big part in that. This is the reason why your journals are so popular, which...

30 is the minimum I'd say. I have 10 in a 30cm and that's about right. You could look at gettina few more, though - say 40 or so. Nice fish choice though ;)

Those pics are much better, the plants look much more healthy and lush. ;)

It looks great! I can't wait to see this one grown in. I think the Blyxa would look better if you kept it where it is now... I don't really know how to explain what I mean but I think it would be distracting if you put it where the diffuser is now.

I really like the feel that mosses, grasses and small-leaved stems create in this scape. The Apisto that you can see in the first photo looks awesome too. ;) It's great that they're spawning, I hope you get lucky with the eggs which I'm sure you will at some point.

What a beautiful tank! As Paulo said, it looks way better everytime you post a photo. The shoal of Harlequins look amazing in there, and I'm sure the Plecs do too! You never know, you might look in one day and see lots of little ones clinging to the front glass. ;) But... 120l of ADA...

Nice tank. I don't know if it's the photo (I know you said it looks brighter IRL) or the lights, or maybe the wood is leaking tannins but it looks quite dark. It might just be because the tank is soo tall. The tank looks way smaller than what it is! Good start though, I'm sure it can be made...

I think this tank is crying out for some redmoor brances.

Very nice shots there. i think Rummynose or Ember Tetras would look amazing in this one, a bit generic but it's a shop tank so thats the sort of thing you want.

i see some resemblance of another scape here :lol: i think it needs a bit more time to mature... not sure that the really defiant line of divide between the plants on the left is working though
