    Peely's 55cm Cube

This has the makings of a good triangular composition. I like the tank size too, I'd quite like a tank this shape.
  2. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

I still think Rummies are the fish for this scape. ;) My Nerites have never laid eggs, and even if they do I'm sure it won't post that much of a problem.
  3. T

    Nick's Journal

I do  that's a minor issue in the scape, though. You'll sort it out. Like the other guys are saying, it's best to trim it down. Maybe not to the substrate, but about 5mm above.
  4. T

    Superman's Replant - 180l - Crypt's Causeway

Cool, I can recommend TGM's graded gravel - very nice stuff and cheap too. Keep us posted! :D

No.4 for me too, it's very different but works well - which is good, you want to be different.

    Aaron's 216l journal!

Re: Aaron's 240l journal! 18l doesn't seem that much for a 240l tank... You'll need quite a bit of whatever you choose to fill it out with.
  13. T

    saintly's Pastel Shades

I still don't get how you superglue Anubias to wood... So, you want to superglue the Anubias flat onto a piece of bogwood, right? Do you just dab a bit inbetween the roots and then slap it on? Oh, and this looks like another promising scape from what I can see! It's great that your mum loves...
  14. T

    Aaron's 216l journal!

Re: Aaron's 240l journal! This is gonna be good. No pressure! I like the fact that it's going to be jungle, great style choice! Can I ask where you got the wood from and what wood it is?
  15. T

    90cm/150litre - "Patience"

Those Embers look great in that last shot! They'll look even better when they fully colour up, great choice.

We all love a bit of random tank!

I am indeed thinking of adding some moss to the foreground, good idea. I was also thinking of getting some Cherry Shrimp, but might have to get rid of the Gouramis first. The foreground isn't that dirty - most of that is fine gravel etc but it's just come out like that in the photo for...
  20. T

We all love a bit of random tank!

I've probably posted this tank several times in it's many forms, just something I've thrown together to keep me occupied whilst I plan stuff for my aquascaping tank. It's been setup like this since around January, but I've changed the layout slightly several times. Lighting: 11w Tank: 28l...

You probably lost your Rams because of rthe ammonia that Aquasoil realeases when first added. This is a nice looking tank, plants look quite healthy! Have you got a recent full-tank shot?
  22. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi I think true Rummies have a slight green tinge to them, less of a red nose and slightly smaller.
  23. T

    35ltr Nano Fighter Tank

Nice! I'm sure he loves it. Here's a few simple tips that seem to work for me: - Switch the room lights off, tank iights on - as much light on the tank as possible - Flash off, but experiment with diffusing the flash by covering it with white paper (maybe several layers)
  24. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi I think Rummies are a great choice, they'll suit the feel of this scape well ;)

    New pheonix 60x30x30 scape.

The first one is the one ;)
  30. T

    Dan Crawford's Jurassic Dawn

I LOVE the second from last photo. It looks so natural and has great depth/sense of scale to it. If I didn't know this was an aquascape, that photo could've been taken outside.
  31. T

    New pheonix 60x30x30 scape.

I have to say that looks much better. Have you thought about sloping the substrate into a heap where the wood is?
  32. T

7gal Shrimp only - "Forgotten Glade"

What about a Crypt or Fern?
  33. T

Once upon a time at the riverbank - Final update

Re: Once upon a time at the riverbank 125Ltr I can see where this tank is going now, and I really like it! It looks so natural and fish choice is great. Are the Cories still in here? Still breeding?

  36. T

    New pheonix 60x30x30 scape.

It's a nice looking layout! What's the plan for planting and other stats (e.g. filter, lighting etc)?
  37. T

The Henge part 2 MA @ eastbridgford

I'll look forward to seeing this in PFK, should be a good feature. I agree that more people should definately approach their LFS about doing a display tank! I never reaslised George was such a poser
  38. T

    Jay's new 'scape 120cm

I think the hardscape is fine, it works as a jungle-type scape. I think the gravel will add much more definition to the scape, have you thought about adding some Crypts?
  39. T

    Jay's new 'scape 120cm

This has to be one of my favourite tanks of all time. I just love everything about it!

    Jay's new 'scape 120cm

Now this is my type of tank! It well does look much bigger, should be nice to see this one progress. ;)
  44. T

    saintly's Pastel Shades

I like the overgrown look, should look good once you've got the scissors out though! Do the Guppies come out much?
  45. T

1600 Gallon 5 meters long planted behemoth

How long did it take you from start to finish to plant this up, Tom? It must've taken days! Also, how do you maintain a tank this size (e.g. perform maintenance, especially nearer the substrate)?
  46. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi That looks amazing, Mark! It's got a much different feel to what I expected, but one that I like and thinks suits the scape well.
  47. T

    "Spooky woodland" - oatfish's tank

Your tank looks great! Can't wait to see what you do with this. Have you considered a smaller Crypt for the foreground? Parva? That tank is definately a Barr creation - I remember seeing it on TFF.
  48. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi That's exacatly why you shouldn't stop posting in your journals, Mark! We all can learn from your journals, both beginners and experts - we can all take something from it and images play a big part in that. This is the reason why your journals are so popular, which...
  49. T

    90cm/150litre - "Patience"

30 is the minimum I'd say. I have 10 in a 30cm and that's about right. You could look at gettina few more, though - say 40 or so. Nice fish choice though ;)
  50. T

    60cm Rekord 70 Lowtech

Those pics are much better, the plants look much more healthy and lush. ;)
  51. T

    90cm/150litre - "Patience"

It looks great! I can't wait to see this one grown in. I think the Blyxa would look better if you kept it where it is now... I don't really know how to explain what I mean but I think it would be distracting if you put it where the diffuser is now.
  52. T

    60cm Rekord 70 Lowtech

I have this tank! :P I like the simplicity of this. I'm sure it'll look a lot better when everything has grown more. Are you planning to add any more fish?
  53. T

1600 Gallon 5 meters long planted behemoth

I'll be round for a swim later, yeah? :P Seriously though, it must be immense to just stand in front of this thing and watch. How do you prune and do maintenance in a tank kthis size?
  54. T

    90cm/150litre - "Patience"

Can't wait to see the photos! I'm a bit bias but how about Ember Tetras?

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi I think the hairgrass mixture idea is great - hairgrass is a great plant. The hardscape looks great too, this should be one to watch as with all the saintly journals. ;)
  61. T

    The Forgotten Valley - 60l

 I noticed that. I think they're brilliant first time shots! It turned out to be a nice scape, well done.

  65. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi Really nice arrangement, and the stone looks amazing! Where's it from? I can't help but think the outer two might be a tad too short though.

Re: Rio 240,hc emmersed setup I can't beliee I haven't seen this tank before! It looks amazing. ;)
  71. T

    Ed's Rio 180

I really like the feel that mosses, grasses and small-leaved stems create in this scape. The Apisto that you can see in the first photo looks awesome too. ;) It's great that they're spawning, I hope you get lucky with the eggs which I'm sure you will at some point.
  72. T

The Henge part 2 MA @ eastbridgford

  77. T

That growth looks great before the trim, I'm sure it'll look great when it's grown back in again. Nice work!
  78. T

TDI's Blyxa - Monolith (with guests appearance by L046).

What a beautiful tank! As Paulo said, it looks way better everytime you post a photo. The shoal of Harlequins look amazing in there, and I'm sure the Plecs do too! You never know, you might look in one day and see lots of little ones clinging to the front glass. ;) But... 120l of ADA...

    The Forgotten Valley - 60l

What a shame... At least you get a massive tank instead, and we get a new journal! Any idea when the plants will be in the Buy etc section??
  82. T

    TLH's Tank

A bit too deep at the front, definately take some out, even if it's just a bit and shift the rest about. Nice start though ;)
  83. T

    The Forgotten Valley - 60l

I remember suggesting this several pages ago   It looks 100 times better, nice one.

  85. T

    saintly's "Prairie Lands"

Re: saintly's 120cm iwagumi It looks great ;) have you thought about maybe adding some Crypts in amoungst all the other plants? Something like Parva or Wendtii - not too big. It might look quite good. For me, the right rock doesn't look quite right. But that's just me.

    James3200s 6.5x2x2' planted tank - UPDATE - 26/06/09

  92. T

Celestial Glade - 125Ltr Low Light, Low Maintenance

    my 130 L

Nice tank. I don't know if it's the photo (I know you said it looks brighter IRL) or the lights, or maybe the wood is leaking tannins but it looks quite dark. It might just be because the tank is soo tall. The tank looks way smaller than what it is! Good start though, I'm sure it can be made...
  97. T

    Superman's Replant - 180l - Crypt's Causeway

I think this tank is crying out for some redmoor brances.
  98. T

The Henge part 2 MA @ eastbridgford

Very nice shots there. i think Rummynose or Ember Tetras would look amazing in this one, a bit generic but it's a shop tank so thats the sort of thing you want.
  99. T

    Dashkasan - 30L scaping

i see some resemblance of another scape here  i think it needs a bit more time to mature... not sure that the really defiant line of divide between the plants on the left is working though
