    A Great British Biotope

Personally, its a real shame you didn't stick to UK native species. Would you put HC in an east Asian biotope? Providing you get the landowners permission you can collect native species from waterbodies. I have been thinking of doing something similar for a while, really should get around to...

    my first planted tank

Where did you get the lamp from or at least the bulb? worth remembering that place as a desk lamp light for a nano would be loads cheaper that proper aquarium lighting! No probs on the HM I used it in my nano. Using the tropica 'plus' will mean you're basically doing EI, as it contains N and...
  71. T

    my first planted tank

Looks excellent :) Is the lighting in the pic from the desk lamp, thats very white for a desk lamp, not seen one that colour before, most tend to be more orange. Have you thought about Hemianthus micranthemoides instead of the bacopa its small leaf shape works well in small tanks :) Whats...

    Big Danne's 180

Well if you want dutch try and have clumps of single species, rather than mixing them up. Obviously tall at the back grading to the front. Its a bit OTT but this is the sort of thing. See how they have groups of plants. The right side of you r tank is certainly heading the right way. Sam
  75. T

    Big Danne's 180

Looks good :) However if I were provide some constructive criticism, it would be that it lacks direction. I.e to me eyes it seems to be a mix of styles, with the wood (Excellent wood BTW :)) trying to make it an ADA tank but the plants on the left and right making it more Dutch style. If you...
