Yep, i'll second the Botia Striata.

    Clean up crew suggestions?

In my 720L i have around 20 otto's and probably around 20 amano shrimp, and a few CRS too. I don't think you can have too many cleaner's in bigger tanks.

    Whats the ultimate shoaling fish?

Blimey there's some stunning fish there, i like the look of those Rummies, as a rummie convert myself.

Recommended Stocking - what would you choose

As for stocking, i had a shoal of cardinals for years, who were pretty poor and basically only shoaled when there was a bigger fish in the tank. And recently had a shoal of Harlequin Rasbora's (around 200) who did shoal very tightly, and presently have Rummienose tetras (around 100 at present)...

Sure is, i only pass through when i'm working there. They've got some nice adult Amano's too.

    congo and ember tetras

I've kept Congo's with a shoal of cardinals tetras before, with no problem, unless of course i'm missing something different about Embers. 8)

    50 of what tetra?

I've recently bought 100 Rummies, and after having a shoal of cardinals and harlequins, these have to be the most active and responsive of any shoal i have owned. Of course i'll be adding to these.

    Rummynose tetras & Rainbowfish Splendida

Thanks Mark. The tank is 200 x 60 x 60 cm, and holds 720 litres. So hopefully they'd be ok.

    Rummynose tetras & Rainbowfish Splendida

Yeah, that's how i'm kinda of thinking. A big shoal is nice, but i always feel there is something missing. Even when i had 200 harlequin's before, it just wasn't right in such a large tank. Maybe i'm reading to much into this. :?

    Rummynose tetras & Rainbowfish Splendida

Hi all, i've added a small shoal of rummynose tetras (100) to my tank recently, and i'm thinking about adding 4 Melanotaenia splendida inornata, which are of the Rainbowfish family (i think) from my lfs. These are quite large, probably around 3-4" long, and have a delicate pattern running...

    Corydoras and sharp stone

I had 20 Sterbai with seriyu stone, and no issues. I'm always more concerned with slate which is razor sharp with my zebra plecs, and they were never sliced.

    Botia Striata and Nerite Snails

    L27c Royal Mini Picture Series

Re: L027c Royal Great panaque Johnny. These are one of my favourite catfish, i used to own 3 at once, but they were back in my Dennerle plant keeping days. What's the little spotted plec in the 1st pic?
  19. TDI-line

    Botia Striata and Nerite Snails

I've got BS with nerite's in my 720L, and no problem what so ever, and no ramshorn snails, but just a few MTS. I did take all 5 BS back to my LFS and big mistake, the ramshorn's where back the next day. It's as if the snail colony knows.... So i bought 3 more, again.

Could someone advise me on discus...?

Hi Vito, discus are a shoaling fish, and a minimum of 6 is usually advisable, and probably keep one per 40 litres.

    Shrimp in a discus tank?

I've kept both wild and tank bred discus, and have only noticed the odd wild one having a quick snack on my old shrimps. Stem Eating Ancistrus??

I did breed these for a while, but eventually sold them all, except for one. And my plants still kept getting munched, including the plant you named above. My blyxa was in a very poor state, most leaves where half eaten, with this one fish covering 720 litres and over 100 stems. So i did a...

I have to agree with SA above, BN catfish do like to snack on leaves etc, and they can reach full adulthood within 18 months. LD, L46 would be great in a planted tank, but they are a very shy and nocturnal catfish. They also prefer a more aerated tank and will struggle for food if...
