    Plants ID Please

The first one is Bolbitis heteroclita, i only know because i've recently bought this for my tank, otherwise i'd be none the wiser  . It is a very long plant which has large leaves which grow into three. The link is where i bought it from, but the pictures don't really do it justice...

    Attaching Pogostemon Helferi

I've attached this previously to bogwood and seiryu rock, i normally cut back the roots slightly, and then wrap brown cotton around. Normally takes a couple of weeks to attach, but really does anchor well. True, it does like to be rooted in the substrate, but like most plants, good lighting...

    Trimming bylxa japonica

Hi John, when first planting i cut off the roots to about 1 cm, remove any bad leaves and then split any stems, depending on how tall or bushy you want the particular stem. I don't cut any blyxa in situ, there's too much. But by then i'm removing it all for a rescape.

tips on growing and trimming bylxya japonica

Hi John, i always try to split my blyxa for a smaller look at the front of the tank, and i may leave the larger ones for the rear, i also cut back the roots to to about 1cm. Then i just leave it for a month for a very dense look. My current only plant. regards, Dan.

    PLant List for New 'Scape?

I'm with Ed, i always find the 'less is more' effect myself. I think i have 4 plants in my 160G, but may change that to 6-7. But please don't let that put you off, this hobby is all about experimenting with different varieties, and depends on your scape too, the Iwagumi usually have less.
