Lovely tanks! Some serious anubias going on in the second :) I visited San Francisco a few years ago. If I could choose anywhere to live in the US it would probably be there!
A truly awe inspiring scape. Having seen it in the flesh a couple of times - once near it's beginnings and once after it had started to mature - I can say it is honestly one of my all time favourite scapes. You see something different every time you look closely at it.
Well done Graeme mate :)
Looks great Sam. I'm considering whether I'd get away with anything at work. Maybe! I see the little terrier hiding away under your desk! What was his name again? Very cute :) Is he less timid then when I met him at TGM last year?
Hey Lisa. I think they're chinese sailfin sharks - Myxocyprinus asiaticusb.
TBRO, I really like the emergent, especially the one on the right. Would love some details (in another post?)
Great looking photos and locations all!
These are from various times over the last few years...

That's a really good start, and great learning scape. When did you put this together James? What would you say were the main things you learnt from this scape?
I think everyone will agree that your plant keeping, photography taking and layout skills have increased immensly this year mate! That's not to say that this scape wasn't anything special, it was a really great scape :)
Really nice tank llj :) I love the vallis nana, and how it has just the right amount of entanglment to look perfectly natural, but not so much that it makes me want to get the planting forcepts out to give it a combing
Awesome George! You couldn't of asked for a better formation of fish! Have they been training with you at the RAF or something?!
Particulalry liking the two shrimp hiding in the hardscape too
Hey Jeff, gorgeous tank. Truely stunning! Quick question about the mercury lamps. I'm hopefully getting a couple of 125w MV pendants, and I'll need to get some new bulbs for them I think. What bulbs are you using with yours? (and where do you get them?!)
Again, absolutely jaw...
Cool :) Is it Flourish Excel or Easy carbo? Both do the same job but are made by different manufacturers :) I would imagine it's Seachem Flourish Excel, as I suspect it would be more readily available in LFS's. It's definately a good thing to use, providing a source of carbon for the plants...
Quite a difference Wordy! Any chance of some details? Do you dose any ferts? Looks like you might have a little bit of a defficiency but other than that looking nice :)
Beautiful fish :) They look like they have that pearlescent (spelling?) green speckle, very similar to my Pentazona barbs. Similar orange too, just different black patterning obviously.
I really want to try some if I can.
I'm after Acicularis for one of my tanks. I usually buy it from garden centres. Normally you can get a 2" x 2" pot for around £3.50! There is enough to do a 4ft easily, if you seperate it out into plantlets (takes time and patience though!)
Maybe try netting the riccia to some smooth rounded stones to make nice undulations? I like the first option with the path by the way :)
I also think the larger rock on the right needs some work. It seems to mirror the one on the left.
I can't find a picture of Zig's 15th place entry... anyone point me in the right direction?
Edit: Am I correct in saying it's the main scape on the UKAPS home page? Awesome scape :)
I clicked on your posted images which took me to the gallery page. I then right clicked the photo and selected "view image" which opened it in my browser so I could get the full image URL, then I posted using the [img ] tags :)
To spur on new growth, and also to try to avoid algae. Mostly, its because we both bought this hair grass from a garden centre (see my rio 180 post) and its immersed growth, so it will probably die off a bit while it changes to submersed.
But its such a nice medium sized bit of wood :) I might ask to pinch a few rhizomes of that narrow fern back at some point, but not yet :)
Can't wait to see what you do with it!
