    I have the same tank, and the same problem. I use a razor blade scraper to remove thick build up of limescale, but most of the time I've found some water and a sponge washing up pad does the trick.

    Google documents has a spread sheet function that I used when cycling to see how levels were progressing over the weeks. Should be pretty easy to set up. Though I admit I got my wife to set mine up as she is far more organised than I!
