2 filters or 1 filter and circulation pump

personally i'd err on the equality of another 2075 Rob, having them the same output and loaded identically then the overall flow would be uniform in your tank, i've 2 matching JBL e1501's and 2 spraybars on the back, flow is even accross the whole length of the tank.

Best external filter for 240 litre

hi Russ I've a fluval Vicenza 260 so fairly similar size, I had similar issues when I got my tank with it's original filter not being up to the task. I now use 2 externals. both JBL e1501's from each side cabinet, they both use spray bars from the back pointing directly forward,i've a thread in...

Cheers guys Thanks Darrel, I've been reading your past posts which have led me to these two options[emoji57] I suppose i could follow suit get one to start then the other next month and add it too, so long as i dont go full throttle on the flow they should be fine together and that way I'll...

Liberty HOB / Aquaball or another??

So I've had an Aqua One Aquaspace 40 tank sitting around collecting dust for about a year, was originally bought as a quarantine tank, so it's about time I cracked on and filled it with water. This will be a low tech dirted tank with plans for some red cherry shrimp, and maybe half a dozen...

JBL CristalProfi e1501 - filter media question

Same filter, are you saying just leave say the bottom basket with bio media and not add any additional in the other trays? or remove the rings totally and replace all with foam? I currently have the bottom basked with broken up alphagrog and a lesser amount in the next 2 baskets as well, I'll...

    JBL or TetraTec

I have two e1501 filters running on my 260 litre tank, spray bars from each filter at rear cover the full length of my tank, they're quiet, they do their job well and in over a year's continuous operation haven't caused me any issues, highly recommend them :-) Sent from my LT30p using Tapatalk

Recommend a filter for 30litre low tech

Ok, so i've decided on the aquaball filter as i'd like to keep the glass lid on the tank which rules out the hob, just need to get the right size, I know the aquaball 45 will suffice being 380 lp/h but i'm leaning towards the 60 as it will give me slghtly more filtration and I plan on fitting a...

Recommend a filter for 30litre low tech

Cheers all, I really like the way Paulo has ferns growing emersed inside his hob filter, this would give me as much pleasure as succeeding with the tank itself:-) so if I went for the liberty hob in 2041 sizing and turned down the flow this would be a good option? I also like the eheim aquaball...

Recommend a filter for 30litre low tech

I've been reading all the existing posts on similar request and am hoping to set up a tank in the same way as Paulo:-), I have no space where the tank is situated for an external, so am leaning towards either an internal with spray bar or what really interest me are the Eheim Liberty HOBs...

Recommended filter for a nano tank 30l

Hi, I too am looking for a filter for my 30 litre which I plan to set up as a low tech, I'm swaying towards the liberty hob filter but unsure which size to get, 2041 or 2042? Which external water pump for my DIY co2 reactor build?

:)The circ pump I am using is the smallest Newave 1.6 it's adjustable with a sleeve, however I usually have it fully open,Prior to buying this I did have the 2.7 but found it way too much, stems were bent double and fish were hiding in corners, so I sold it and have the funds stashed in the...

Which external water pump for my DIY co2 reactor build?

hmmmm, my original plan was to make two of foxfish's design of reactor running one each off the JBL 1501 's, which I may still do, only funds are allowing me to do one at a time, due to my tank being deep and bow fronted, I'm trying to keep Clive's advice about improving flow and circulation at...

Which external water pump for my DIY co2 reactor build?

I have all I need for my (foxfish) co2 reactor but before I plough on and build it inot my filter return pipe I am now considering using a stand alone water pump just for the reactor and build a full length 4 foot spray bar. 2 new filters to aid flow and circulation, help me decide between....

Ah, I see what you mean about crossing over the outflow/spraybars, it makes sense, my tank is a fluval vixenza, being 4feet and quite tall i'll most likely need extra length hosing to reach each outflow to the other side of the tank, wouldn't the tubing cross over at the rear of the tank then...

I'm trying to be good and not use the dreaded credit card! so as Zooplus aren't getting any in until Mid April and I don't get first time discount of 10% as already a customer I tried Charterhouse as they do interest free so thought great, I can get both now then pay off over 6 months, wrong...

2 new filters to aid flow and circulation, help me decide between....

Cheers good idea, I'm quite lightly stocked at the moment but splitting the fish will be a better idea and saving more water saves time too;-) plan made, can't wait now, must see if I can get one new filter in a few weeks. Thanks lurch

2 new filters to aid flow and circulation, help me decide between....

I think i've decided......JBL it is then :) I just need to find them at the right price, oh and save up too, may get one to run alongside my 305 first and transfer some media accross to help seed it, my only issue is that my tank is drilled and the 305 is being run through the drilled inlet...

    1 spray bar 2 filters.

I can see your plan mate, not sure how the different flow rates from the two filters would affect the delivery from the spray bar and if you would see any backflow issues ? Ed, I've been looking at possibly getting the APS 2000 for my 250 litre Vicenza Tank, one question if I may, you quote £60, is this what they acually go for as I see on their site they're £80, not that it's too much difference but it could swing it for me. At the moment i'm unsure what to buy...
