Could you try attaching them together with a small piece of tubing or something similar? Pop to b and q take your bottle and housing with you and check in their plumbing section for something that fits which you could cut down to size,I'd not use glue as you nee to take it apart to clean...

Thanks Alastair, I just need to sourse the correct sized barbed hose tails for the standard JBL tubing, I believe I can also use the Ehiem if I need to buy some longer length that may be provided, it's the 16/22mm, the site you purchased yours doesn't do this although they do have 15mm barbs...
