    frustrated or not?

for me its budget. i think if every aquascaper was given top notch soil like oli knotts, all the right tools, and some top equipment like lighting, ferts, filters etc we would all be amazed at what is produced. however, first, education is needed to get rid of all these myths. like the '2WPG...

    GREEN ON ROCK! NOT ALGAUE

if you want stones that look like they have moss gorwing on them, how about getting some stones and attaching some moss? surely that is the simplest way to go? then you can trim, and re-shape to your hearts content.

    Help with Hardscape placement. {update}

swap the parvula and the tennellus around. the tennellus will hide everything and you wont even see the parvula. - That would be better in the foreground.

what can I use to support a heavy tank decoration?

look on ebay mate. its cheap as.. well eggs. you can get metal egg crate but the plstic ones are better for what we use it for.
  13. N

what can I use to support a heavy tank decoration?

eggcrate is the best. reefers use it to support all the rock stacks in their tanks.

    AquascapeGallery.com, a personal introduction

how about being able to show some shots before the scape grew in. Have the main image that you see first as the finished scape, so that it still pulls people in, but then when you click on the scape, there is an area for say 2 photos of the initial stages, to help other see, initialy planting...

could we please start a list of woods peoplehave used from?

but for people who only look for certain things such as journals or hardware stuff they would have to click on this to find out what its about. Also, it makes the search function work alot better, that it what it is there for.

    I've got massive wood!

what wood can you use? as long as its in freshwater is it fine?

    -- plant position help :)

i thought about the single island type scape but i didnt really want an open area, so i went with what i have now. its all down to personal preferance. As this is my first planted tank, for me, its all about learning to grow the plants successfully first and getting the tank 'correct' in terms...

    AGA Aquascaping Contest 2009

il have a go, why not! you would be silly not to enter. its pointless saying 'i havent got a scape to enter' when you have like 300 tanks to choose from. and likewise all those people who wont enter becuase a strand of blyxa doesnt look right!

    Sharp sand?

go to argos and get the £3 bag of sand and then use that, or do what i am doing in my next scape (yes NEXT SCAPE) and use some plain pea gravel to make stony areas. Tony (Tonser) has used it to perfection in his scape.

  27. N

    Who's entering ADA IAPLC 2009?

im entering but i might not be now. i have submitted my details but found i cannot get a FTS. my camera cant do Wide angle stuff and to get the whole tank in i have to be so far back, you then cant see the layout. so looks like im out of this one as i have a shoddy camera. i also have no...

    Rate my aquascape

Rate my aquascape...... it sounds like a tv show, probably hosted by graham Norton!!!! right that out of my system, the rocks need seperating a little more, perhaps more around the base of the wood.

    Optiwhite iwagumi.

the top one is good, the bottom picture however, remove the flat stone on the left, it is distracting, then in both pictures you have 3 clumps of rock.
