    same with the bolbitis? the leaf form is different to mine though this could simply be to do with water parameters...the plants look so lush. My biggest question is the ADA model is about low water column dosing and packing the substrate, but most of Amano's tanks rely heavily on epiphytes...

    Just watching the highlight clips from the party. Interestingly Amano's fave scape is biotopesque (it's no. 55), maybe this place does / does not exist in nature, kind of scape. Reassuringly for all there are heaps of awesomeness throughout the top 100s...:clap:

    The "essence" of nature that is apparent when I view one of Amano's and say "Tom's bucket O' Mud" seem to be missing a lot in these scenes. Almost like the more they strive to copy the minute detail, the more the essence is lost...it's like painting styles, and peoples tastes. Ultimately...

    Go for a full on hairgrass lawn! You can play around with stems and satisfy your itchy fingers, but I'd deffo also recommend attaching loads of ferns to the wood - bolbitis n microsorum, low maintenance but they add a sense of balance and stability to any scape, particularly as stems grow in and...
