Can never go wrong with Hikari -...
Smaller tanks appear clear when optiwhite.
But larger pieces of optiwhite are a light blue. Gets darker the further the glass goes in the direction your looking.
Yes I suppose, but don't you find it boring?
We know ADA is expensive, that TMC are great for a 'budget' rimless setup and that NA were somewhere in between. So nothings changed. Still.
I checked it with an intense in tank bazooka. I only tried it once but had good results in terms of pressure and bubble size.
I imagine the same would occur with inline diffusers, being of very similar material
I think Ian Holdich had these in a tank with a carpet and they didn't uproot it at all.
I'm guessing that it'll vary between tanks, with coverage area etc.
They won't uproot to get at food if there's some laying on a patch of sand somewhere else :p
I recently tried a 'siesta' period of 1.30 in a 6 hour photoperiod.
I found after about a week, my tank was covered in green and brown algae on the surface of both hardscape and glass.
I think the plants may find it hard to shut down and start photosynthesising again in such a short period...
I'm using the 200w on a mini M which is around 18-20L.
I'm also using an eheim Ecco on it too.
Just for reference..
200w should be fine mate, but I'd recommend against an Ecco. They're fantastic filters, but I'd want more grunt if it were me. What about an eheim pro 3 250?
Do not under any circumstances ramp your lights right down and leave co2 as normal.
Otherwise you'll come back to 25 dead 'small tetras'.
Do as Clive says, (as per usual! ) and turn lights and co2 off.
Make sure that if evaporation occurs, that the spraybar/ outlet isn't positioned in...
Ill have a go if I can get tank set up in new house quite quickly.. Might be up against it, and I know 'little' tanks dont do very well, so no point me entering a Mini M
Noticed any ill effects? I'm not sure I can watch the video at the moment.
Sorry mate, what's your name :)
Edit: I've managed to watch the most recent video ( signals terrible, as I'm working out in the sticks!).
This video should show people newer to dosing that at least the more robust...
I saw some cobwebs. So was cautious.
Plus my lass said she saw a spider near the box. But didn't want to wake me up at 5am. LoL
Here's to hoping it's a money spider :nailbiting:
Excellent info Darrel, thank you very much.
From what you are quoting here, I gather that using a syringe to dose H2O2 onto rocks etc would have a similar effect?
However, I know that H2O2 is not 'fish safe' if directed at them or heavily dosed.
How does this unit differ? Just a low dosage?
Nobody is saying it doesn't work. Why don't you read above post? It VERY CLEARLY works in Viktors eyes and others.
It's the fact we want to know what's going on.
Call it inquisition. Call it trying to understand what it is actually doing to the water In our aquariums, so we can learn...
The Twinstar manufacturers obviously have something to hide in terms of what is actually happening inside the unit. I would personally find this an insult, if I had purchased the Unit.
The views that 'they could be withholding information to prevent copycat production' doesn't really cut it...
Hello George,
It was intended to be light hearted banter, more so in response to NatureBoys Link to Ian holdiches topic on 'the silver Bullet'.
I too regard victor as an exceptional aquarist. One of the best on this forum.
And I do not doubt his findings either, as the results are clearly...
Almost. But you made it sound like I had bought it for the sake of doing so, as if money wasn't an issue.
It was, and I chose to save to buy the one I wanted. :)
That makes the tank feel even more special too.
Apologise, I thought you said you were selling your TMC.
I suppose as long as the purchaser is happy, it doesn't really matter.
I chose to make my own cabinet as the ADA ones are EXTREMELY expensive. But making my own means I can choose whatever finish I want. Be it a wood veneer or...
No, it's also because I saved hard money for it. I will be definitely on a lot less money than a lot of people on here.
I bought into a brand, a brand who has pushed the nature aquarium to where it is today. Not imitations of ADA.
I'm not advising someone to buy, I'm just sharing my...
No noise at all other than a very light 'Click' when it starts heating and when it stops heating. I have one right next to my head in bed (Approx. 1' away), and it doesn't keep me up at night.
actually, ive just had a massive tidy in my cabinet, and mines now at 45 degrees. lol. My cabinets looking unreal too!
Please note I'm purchasing a tool rack today
It doesnt matter though really. If your gonna have it horizontal, just wiggle it every so often to clear bubbles... not...
ADA Cube Garden Hooks 5mm - Buy ADA Nature Aquarium Goods | The Green Machine
There you go mate, I got mine with my aquarium. They're not the cheapest, but they work.
MAKE SURE IF YOU ORDER YOU GET THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOUR GLASS. ;)
Oh didn't realise the light was that intensive. Just start with small photoperiod and increase slowly and you'll be right.
Dosing co2 and Liquid carbon will help.
All should be fine pal, what are the lights? 11w?
And filter will gas off a bit of co2 if it's a waterfall type HOB. If it's submerged it should be better for retaining co2.
